Contaminated syringe?

AFOAF made some spore syringes a few days ago, and he's now surprised to see some cotton-like fuzz in it... Is it possible the spores germinated without dextrose or such, or is this just some sort of contam?? It surprises him contams would just grow out of plain water (well, myceleium wouldn't do that neiter, wouldn't it?)... To shoot or not to shoot?

The only way you're going to tell if it's contam is to shoot some jars up.

Mycelium has been known to germinate in syringe.

i've heard sponsors talking about fresh spores germinating. if anything, it is a good thing.

yeah innoc some jars and seperate them from your others if possible and watch if your innoc with liquid mycelium they will colonize real fast no germination time if not you should also notice contamns real fast

id check them everyday which i dont normally suggest

but it seems quite possible to me that it is mycelium and in that case it will take alot less time to colonize whuich is nice

is it white or clear becouse spores tend to clump and and there will be clear shit holding them together whitch is normal its has some thing to do with them looking for food or something

Do you know if this syringe had previously been used for liquid myc? AFOAF has had some problems with one syringe he used for liquid myc. It seems he couldn't rinse out all of the corn syrup. He even washed it 3 times and the same syringe always ends up with myc growth. Just a thought...

No, the syringe were new/sterile before... Yeah, on one syringe, it's more as if the spores had clumped together with white/transparent fuzz... One the other, the fuzz is really transparent... well, I'll see what happens. Thanx guys.

I wish you luck. I use dex solution for syringes and the syringes turn a bit cloudy after a day. I never let it sit over a day, so I've got nothing to compare your syringes with... sorry..
