Which case Tek do you recomend?

I have ordered 4 more syringes of Z Strain, for a bigger grow.

I've been searching on case teks, and there are lots of them, I'm not sure which is, "the best".  :blush:

I want to be able to use the perlite tub system I have now, for humidity. I don't want to have to build a whole new system if that is possible.

one more vote for 50/50+

one addition i learned from a member, forget the name, is to mix the myc with field capacity verm @ 2:1 ratio. 2 parts verm 1 part myc. give it a try on one.

instead of buying more spore syringes look into the karo tek, youll save alot of $ on spores.

So I can buy these things at any Lowes or Home Depot?

15 1/2 cups peat moss

4 1/2 cups crushed oyster shell

1.2 cups of hydrated lime


also there is 1 part I don't understand in the tek:

"Take some colonized substrate and gently crumble to fill in the places in between the the slices of substrate."

Does that mean crumble up the cakes? And put them in between the cakes?

no, put it on the top and bottom of substrate and don't get it to thick on top

wow that is easy! :laugh:

So maybe I can pick up one of those cheap aluminum foil tins, and make a casing holder out of that, and put them in my perlite tub that I'm using now.

probably not the oyster shell, you can get that at a pet supplies store, its sold as some kinda bird food.

the casing would be more like (top to bottom)

crumble it up, yeah, and try to make all the crumbled peices fit together so it is even at the top, not like mountains and valleys.

Ah ok, I will take a piece of aluminium foil and pat them down to make them semi-level.

dont pat down the casing layer (top layer) you want it to have little crevices for the mycelium to grow up through.

What man?? Whyd you order 4 syringes of the same type? Have you ever heard of liquid cultures? You only need 1-2 cc's of spores to make 1000 jars. Z strain is a great strain but you could have order a few different ones!
