No Perlite... no humidifier.. what now?

So I went to the local HD today and found a ghost of a shelf in place of beautiful white bags of perlite. SO, I can't get any.. don't want to bother to order some.. don't have the cash for a humidifier. What should I do?? I went to the TEKs and all the other option they had was the Geolite.. and there's not a speck of that around here.

Try Wal Mart, K-Mart, Lowes, Bordeins, etc. Any store with a garden center in your area will probably have peralite. Unless you're in a really small place, but it sounds like you're not considering you have a HD. Hope this helps.

I found it at home depot, two small garden shops and walmart..the four places I've looked I've found it. Best deal so far was walmart. One of the garden shops is cool for verm though :smile:

If you still can't find it or geolite or lava rock (both them last ones are use in aquariums at the bottom I believe and would be in pet stores but you need an air pump and such with geolite or lava rock too) then you'll need to buy a humidifier. Beyond that, case and the casings will keep in most of the humidity and you'll need to mist alot.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... well I think I'll get my check on at other stores around here. There are a few large garden stores/feed stores around here that may have perlite. UGH!!! The search is on!

If you have home depot and they had it then they will again too...

Chances are also since you saw an empty space on a Home Depot shelf that you have a walmart near you with it on the shelf too.
