This kind of sexual repression saddens me. Noone should be made to feel less of a person if they enjoy sex and take part in it frequently. As long as you are responsible and safe about sex, quantity shouldn't matter.

As far as waiting for the right person or waiting for marriage to have sex, I say that this could be a mistake. Sexual compatability is a big part of a relationship. I know a couple that has had to work very hard at their relationship because they just don't match up as far as sexual desire and intensity go. The husband actually has less sexual desire than the wife and she would like for him to be longer lasting and kinky. Both have had thoughts of divorce because of the sex issues, but they continue to work through their problems with each other.

It still is each persons choice to make when and how they lose their virginity, but no one should be made to feel bad about making the decission either way.

I also believe that one should not make such a big deal out of sex that they are disappointed by it when they finally do have sex or that they are so wound up about it that they can't relax and enjoy it. I have a cousin that waited until he was in his twenties to lose his virginity and he is unable to reach orgasm because he gets to nervous about it and expects so much. He is constantly worried about what it will be like when he finally comes that he can't do it at all. It's strange because he says that he can easily reach orgasm through masturbation or through oral sex, but never through actual intercourse.

I admit i was pretty disappointed when i was 16 and first had sex. Everyone always talks about how its the greatest thing ever so then you find some random person to do it with but when you are done you find out that you would be just as happy if it never happened at all.

However, the one time i had sex with someone i truley loved, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life...we had to part ways shortly after that and i never saw her again.

Dont feel so bad though Jon. Im now 24 and i sit here just like you knowing that i will probably never find that kind of love again. Im not that good-looking and not very social and any sex i have will probably be meaningless, with some drunk slutty girl.

Be proud to be a virgin! I'm 24, female, and still a virgin because I've turned guys down. In my books there is only one man good enough for a gift as valuable as my virginity, and that will be my husband someday. You only get to give it away once, be careful whom you choose! Don't let it be some guy who won't mean anything to you in a few months just because you want the 'experience.' Two weeks is way to fast for me, personally.

i just got devirginized at the age of 19 the other week.  i was drunk and it just kinda happened with this girl i used to hook up with on and off over the last couple years.  it was a little awkward but i liked that she was more experienced than the girl i was previously with (who wouldn't touch me back...i know she was a virgin and that she was probablly scared...but jesus :mad:).

reflecting on it, it really wasn't a big deal.  i guess that's  because i can detatch emotional feelings from sexual activity and just roll with the experience.  its fun anyway but i do bet it would be great with someone you really care about.  as far as first times is concerned...i say go for it as long as you aren't the type to get attatched easily.

edit...also, i was never ashamed to tell anybody, drunk or sober, that i was a virgin.  i don't think that's something to look down on somebody for or feel ashamed of.  we all walk at our own pace.
