I don't see where he claims that the gravitational field is being recorded. We can't directly percieve gravity, and he obviously knows this. Man, what happened to you when you left?

As for this ball rolling up hill, I'm kind of curious as to where you saw this. I don't really doubt it's possible, and the whole thing should be intriguing. I'd have to go and see it for myself with my eyes though to believe it.

Berrenda Fox sounds pretty loopy to me. Physiology and naturopathy... Do either of these have to do with DNA? Physiology as far as I know doesn't. And what's naturopathy anyways... Sounds like it could be cool, or like it could be lame, but definitely doesn't sound like anything to do with DNA.

naturopathy as per the skeptic's dictionary: http://skepdic.com/natpathy.html
Nothing about DNA in naturopathy/

btw, I looked up more on physiology, it does in fact deal with DNA. But I still think this lady is full of shit.

Yeah, his need to argue with me is so intense, he is making up stuff. I think he is cracking, and may be on the verge of a spiritual breakthrough.  :rotfl: :thanx:

I was gonna say you'd probably feel the gravitational affect all weird and shit if it was that, but apparently it's just optical illusions. Weird how people commercialize and bank off of other people on something like this. Sick too.

The first and second link you posted are not about the Oregon spot. The story about the horses was funny in the first one. What did you find on the one in Oregon? That's the one I saw a TV show about and it looked hella weird.

The only avenues which will lead to DNA upgrades that I can think of are gene therapy and genetic engineering, which I hope to play a role in some day.  Trendal's post regarding "transhumans" touches some of my perspective on the wonder of biotechnology and what it may lead our species to.

The most celebrated US site of anomalous gravity is the Oregon Vortex on Sardine Creek Road, Gold Hill, Oregon, allegedly known to Native Americans as ?the Forbidden Ground? because no birds nested there and horses got spooked every time they came near it. Perspective seems to go awry, bouncing balls behave erratically, and compasses malfunction. The Vortex has operated as a roadside attraction since the early 20th century. The proprietor explains it as an ?anti-gravitational electromagnetic field? affecting a circular area 165ft (50m) across. Sceptics insist it?s all an optical illusion. How can something be photographed relative to something that cannot be seen on film? Please explain.

Your love to personalize is...

I have not the slightest feelings for or against you. However, your posts all-too-frequently post non-facts as factual and I do have a BIG problem with that.

Hiring Frog as an escrow agent, I will put up a large sum of money against anyone elses' equal sum and fly to a mystery spot of choice for a Swami Challenge with judges to be agreed upon.

I ALWAYS back up my claims and am the only here with the cajones to do so.

I mentioned a site that is said to have these qualities and a television show was done on it. The claims were made on the show and they were filmed and you can go visit the place and experience it for yourself. I have never been there. I asked if anyone here knew of this place.

This is normal conversational material swami. If you have a problem with the claims m,ade by the propriators of this place and the scientists who are researching it, then they are the ones you have a problem with.

I have never even been there. I brought up what I knew about it and asked if others knew anything. You havn't been there either. i didn't posts anything as fact. Anyone can read what i wrote and what I wrote is that you can film a ball rolling up hill, (what up is relative to I have no idea) but you can you do it. Compasses do not work there as the magnetic field is off from earths. I don't know why it is but I am sure that there is a scientific explaination for it.

I am sure that everything that happens there can be scientifically explained if not now, soon.

But does that mean, we can't enjoy the curiousity of these places that can mess with percpetion so severely? Thats what shrooms are all about, they change percpetion and people enjoy the experience and curiousities of it.

You're saying I did something that I never did if you would re-read my words with clarity as you are reading into them way to much. Science being able to explain how a ball can roll up hill isn't what this is about. This is about being able to witness and film a ball perceptually going up hill.

Whatever debate you think you are enganged in with non existant material, YOU WIN IT!

Re: DNA upgrades [Re: Swami]

Swami's correct on this one, as without the gravitational field as a reference, there's no way to determine direction relative to it.

As for the magnetic hill in moncton, new brunswick... went there once many years back and have to say it is pretty convincing. But, the truth remains that it is no more than a clever optical illusion, as the ground appears to be flat when really it is sloped down, giving the impression that - relative to the ground, you are travelling uphill when really it's downhill. Fun, but nothing metaphysical

Yes, I totally agree with you that up is relative. What makes this place interesting is that to the eye and camera, it appears to be up.

If you don't find this interesting, thats okay. I did and I wanted to share it.

Thank you for inspiring a new sig! I am not here to make anyone beleive anything. As your sig says, think before you beleive. I agree!

Heh, you're right about the relativity thing. I thought you were referring to something else.

Is it still considered rolling uphill if its rolling down uphill? I'm still trying to grasp this whole optical illusion concept, lol. Is the person at a slant (but not a noticeable one), and that's why the hill seems to be going up?

The ground outside of the "hill" is slanted down, as is the hill itself although to a much lesser degree. So, relative to the ground (one assumes it's flat), the "hill" appears to be slanted up.

\_ <- that's a very bad diagram, but picture the slash as being the "flat ground". Relative to that, the flat underscore would appear as being uphill.

I believe that at some of these spots, the trees grow at an angle, possibly due to high winds. We assume that they grow perpendicular to the gravity field, hence the illusion.
