MBTI Personality Test

Ahh. The Myers-Briggs test was finally mentioned in this thread. I love this personality test. It's not like other tests you find on the internet that tell you "What color of the rainbow am I?" This is a great tool in learning more about yourself and the people around you.
The real test costs money and it much more in depth, but I find that this test does quite nicely: http://similarminds.com/myers-briggs-jung.html
This is an excellent site explaining what each letter means: http://www.geocities.com/lifexplore/mbintro.htm
You can find descriptions of each type at these sites: http://www.personalitypage.com/portraits.html http://www.typelogic.com http://www.keirsey.com
I am an INFP. What are you?

Very strongly an INTP
PS: there are many free tests around the net, I'll try and find a good one.

Something like only 9% to 11% of the population is INTP Around 90% to 95% of all computer science majors are INTP

Thanks, Trendal. That's a good test, too!
Ahhh, I knew you guys would be N's. Only 25% of the population are N's and 75% are S's.

I agree with the descriptions of the types on that site... However, I find their descriptions of intertype relations to be off. I rarely agree with them!

Something like only 9% to 11% of the population is INTP From what I've read, it's closer to 1%...you may be thinking of NT types in general, which make up about 5-10% of the population. Though I'm quite sure you are correct about the comp sci majors being almost all INTP. Apparently this frame of mind gives us an advantage with logic systems

I agree with this, except I'm not totally sure what the N/S bit means. I mean, I know what "intuitive" and "sensing" mean, but in this context? Can anyone clarify that for me?

From the site that I linked...
Sensors: Focused on the physical world Live by their five senses Concrete Interested in "what is" Realistic Practical Understands details, particulars Only see the obvious Down to earth Use words literally Live in the present Needs evidence and facts Traditional and simple Banker, police, athlete, surgeon, pilot, cashier Sees the trees instead of forest
Intuitives: Focused on the mental or spiritual world Use a "sixth sense", "hunch", and "gut feeling" Abstract Interested in "what can be" Idealistic Imaginative Understands meaning, generalities Look beyond the surface Head in clouds, deep Use metaphors, analogies, hidden meanings Live in the future Speculative and theoretical Original and complex Artist, scientist, poet, mystic, social reformer, philosopher Sees the forest instead of trees
You have a pretty weak N, so you may drift between being a Sensor and an Intuitive type. You can get a better idea of which one you really are by reading descriptions on the two types INTP and ISTP and figuring out which fits you better.

Oops, missed that quite obvious link, sorry
The test Trendal linked to has quite different scores for me...
"Your Type is ENTP Extroverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving Strength of the preferences % E:22 N:89 T:33 P:44"
slightly expressed extrovert
very expressed intuitive personality
moderately expressed thinking personality
moderately expressed perceiving personality
But this test had just "yes/no" rather than 5-point scale.
I can't tell whether I'm an "I" or an "E", I love social contact and I love being on my own, they occupy equally prominent places in my psyche. I need both to function at my full potential.

I just did this test for a class recently, how coincidental that this thread pops up. I tested as an INTJ: http://www.personalitypage.com/INTJ.html
I found a lot of value in this test, learned a ton about myself. Good shit!

Only one letter off!
So what's it like using your emotion to make decisions instead of logic? I must admit I have a rather lackluster experience when it comes to emotional decision making (which may be part of the definition of INTP)
