I know you're still probably going to assume I'm some fool making this ability up, as to appear 'special' or some shit. But the funny, and ironic thing, is from within my perspective, I have my own proof, and you appear as the fool.

Um, for what it's worth (obviously nothing in writing), but I've shown it to all my friends and one even started practicing it. Trust me, I'm not delusional or a liar here, but of course you'll be too threatened to question your current worldview that has been laid out before you.

So, because you didn't have results for whatever time period you practiced, it most be a lie for everyone?

So if I give this a shot, you would guarantee that it's worth? What if I sincerely tried it, since that's all I would need to do right? I'm kinda curious about this anyways. You could tell me what processes and techniques you used to learn. I'm 100% serious about this. All I know is to visit psi.net or psipog.net or some such website, so I'll do that now, to get a headstart. :-)

edit: bare in mind, I still hold to my belief that it is just heat, but I'm curious as to how this affects the world around us.

The different theories that people presented here were interesting. But I think the key to this mystery is in one of the details that you omited. The scale measures items in tenths of grams. It was bought for 20 dollars and is now several months old. Days ago you had complained about the scale malfunctioning, and you thought that the bottom of the scale was dirty thus causing malfunctions. When you tried to tarry up, it would jump from 0.0 to .5g irradically. It would take several attempts to tarry up, and the scale would still jump around in the .1 -.2 gram range. And after an object was placed on the scale, and removed, the scale would be off and need to be recalibrated. This is why I suggested proving yourself on a second scale, even if it was digital. I don't think this is "going to extreme condititons to prove this to other people"

I think you may have mislead people with your initial observations, and that if you did indeed have some extraordinary power then you could reproduce it on another scale. If you powers remain exclusive to this one particular scale, then maybe it's the scale itself that is responsible for the anomaly.

Just had a thought... it telekensis is real, then people are moving things with their mind... when something moves, it has kenetic energy... if lots of little things move, the kenetic energy is called heat... so if telekenisis is real, then the folks that can do it should be able to cause an easily measurable increase in temperature within matte... such as mercury within a thermometer... by speeding up all the little molecules.

Hmm it's possible, although I've heard others refer to that specific energy transfer (mind-over-heat) as pyrokinesis.

Kinetic energy and heat energy are not really the same. Well, I mean moving an object as a whole (billions of molecules) is not the same as speeding up the motion of the molecules without any object motion (heat). They're related of course, through energy exchange, so I can see where you're coming from :smile:

I'll try a thermometer out, but I've never had success with pyrokinesis before.

Deff, i know where your coming form here. Its like when people try to 'deny' the experiences i have sometimes, like ESP, or OBE's, because it doesnt fit into their worldview.

i mean i smimply dont see the motivation that would inspire someone to lie about this kind of thing. Theirs no reward involved.

personally if i had a really undeniable paranormal power, i would be pretty scared to demonstrate it to randi. I can just imagine doing it in front of a camera and being like 'wait a minuite why isnt that camera on?' and theyll be like 'dont worry about that. just step this way and go with these nice gentleman in the black suits and shades'

For what its worth deff i dont think your lieing or insane. I think its possible that you are moving the object through thermal heat or your breath, or someother unidentified but normal force. I also think TK is definetly possible.

So whatever rock on buddy

personally the only paranormal talents that i bother cultivating are those that let me have trippy and fun experiences, ya know like astral projection or OBE's.

I can blow on my scale from four feet above it and it will go from .0 to .2-.7, scales are sensitive.

The problem with this idea is that all TK proponents can ever move is a pinwheel in free air. That would have to spin very fast indeed to produce a measurable temperature delta.

I am glad you are skeptic, and so am I... I admit I was a bit excited when it first happen and may have let the excitement get the best of me... But to ALL the people saying that my scale is somehow bogus and they are all very sketch, DO YOU EVEN HAVE ONE?

Yes TheShroomhermit it WAS malfuncttioning, but I cleaned it and it is working fine now. it doesent jump and tares out fine.. Also, all your people saying breath can effect a scale by .07 try it on YOUR scale and get back to me with the results... of course if you BLOW on it it is goona change, but I was in no way breathing hard OR anywhere near where my breath would effect it..


Thanks people for the reality check, this has been a lesson of self for me.. I still stand by my claim I can effect the scale, but just like when I 'read minds' it is with extreme in tune ness with something I can;t explain and it doesen't take over me very often( you know what I mean if it has happened to you)

And no, I am not 'special' in any way.... maybe if some of yall would quit being so skeptic and actually try some energy work, you would realize whether or not you can manifest it to the pysical doesen't change the realness factor. you can feel it deeper then just a tingling of energy.......

Lot's of people less emotionally mature than you do care about what your digital alias thinks of theirs. Just take a look in OTD for some great examples. Most people outgrow this, but many, especially those with low self-esteem, don't. I think some of these people outright lie about possessing magical powers, but I think the majority fool themselves into thinking they do. This isn't a novel idea; it's been observed in people throughout history. Even when presented with clear, in-your-face evidence that they don't have any magical abilities, they still refuse to accept that they're wrong.

The reason I argue these points is because I have a strong sense of truth and while I don't care if any one individual I don't know deludes him/herself, when they start making public statements in a matter-of-fact tone attesting to their impossible mystical powers, I'll challenge them in public.

I do this because there's more than enough self-delusion in the world, and that delusion is responsible for much of the misery, persecution, and witch burnings, along with many of the conflicts and wars our planet has had to endure throughout human history. I can't fix the world, but I can oppose irrationality in my little corner of it.

This seems paranoid but you could obviate this concern by:

1. Doing it discreetly in Vegas to set yourself, your family, and your friends up financially for life. Nobody would ever know. You may argue that this has already happened and nobody knows about it, but I'll argue that if it had, then the gentle statistical slew that would have resulted over time at casinos around the world would have been detected, even though the individual(s) causing it would not have been. Such a slew has never been detected; casinos consistently perform in exact accord with statistical expectations.

2. Win the lottery. One fantastically unlikely event, winning the lottery, would not cause any suspicion at all.

3. Assemble a team of lawyers before going to see James Randi (or any of the dozens of other challengers with big cash prizes). They won't let you be abducted by anyone because their wallet is in your pocket, so to speak.

4. Do your demonstration on national TV. Once the general public hears of your powers, they wouldn't tolerate you being whisked away by the bad guys. And lots of frauds have been doing this convincingly on national TV without any repercussions.

Maybe if you put fresh batteries in your scale then put the scale inside an airtight container away from sources of EM interference (cell phones, computers, TV, watches, toasters and the like) and saw how your 'powers' no longer worked, you'd realize that you're just kidding yourself.

Why are all your self-tests so easy (finicky scale with old batteries in open air). If you are sure of your powers, then you should be outrageously hard on yourself when demonstrating your powers to yourself so there's no room for doubt. Instead, I keep hearing about you using the same questionable scale over and over and always in open air.
