Weilii Question
    #2978725 - 08/08/04 03:57 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

"In area of new housing development" When people say this, do they mean search the red clay of properties currently being worked on? Or do they mean search the grass of properties that have already been constructed, using the new construction going on only as an indicator that the neighborhood is relatively new?

So you just go to woodstock and find a neighborhood after a heavy rain in the fall and find weilii growing all over in the grass?

I typically look for them in the lawns of neighborhoods that were built within the last 1-10 years.

Do they grow in that really skinny crab grass stuff that golf courses and really new houses use? Or are they more prone to the thick bladed grass?

Bermuda grass is what you are dwcribing and hell yeah they love it. But they are not exclusive to it. Lush green, fungus friendly newer lawns. Enjoy! You're in just the spot.

I agree superbling, they only grow on the nicest of lawns. They love the super lush green lawns.

Interesting, not too many psychoactive fungii are found growing on lawns abundantly. I'm still amazed I live in the area where these grow as it seems to be quite a restricted area as far as locale.

I've studied weilii for over a year, hopefully this season will yield me a gift from the gods.

wow I laughed out loud when I read that...

ya basicly that is what you hope for... but the fact is weilii are pretty damn rare..

I am sure they are out by the thousands.. but it is so spread out that you have to cover lots of hoods for a good chance to find some.... your best chance is to make a plan, and drive slow!
I myself have been studying them for just over a year... and I hope my second weilii season will be a fruitful one! luck will help
