On the Calculation of Volume
By Solvej Balle

What's this about?

:tellmeastory:

A woman gets caught up in a time loop and repeats the same day over and over while her husband repeats the same day and doesn't remember. Similar to ground hog day. It's very repetitive. But it really gets to the bottom of being alone in place and time. Pretty cool concept

Sounds like The Neverending Sacrifice, but with more regular romance and less romanticism.

I'm finishing "Blitzed" by Norm Ohler, it has been 50/50 interesting/boring.

Maybe even more like 35/65...

I'm hoping it's sequel, "Tripped"-which is waiting for its turn- will get the cogs turning a bit more cos it's psychedelic based.

Shadow and Claw by Gene Wolf

First half of The Book of the New Sun, pleasure reading.

Also reading Islam, Arabs, and the intelligent world of the Jinn by Amira El-Zein, and just ordered 1001 Arabian Nights to help detail and flavor a tabletop adventure I wrote that I've been polishing up. Legends of the Fire Spirits by Robert Lebling had very fertile and interesting  information regarding pre-Islamic djinn that was quite helpful in designing the adventure

Yep, I wrote this one for Dungeon Crawl Classics, includes a new class (Dervish) and small adjustments for wizards to become "Djinni Wizards" (Sha'ir), some new spells and a new patron.

It's gotten lots of good feedback over 5 playtests. I'll probably publish it someday.

^sounds like a good yet heavy read.
I'm on "while mortals sleep" short story collection by Kurt Vonnegut and "Souls code" by James Hillman which is about daimon and that sort of stuff.
