“A People’s History of the United States” by Howard Zinn.
I’ve always known the officially sanctioned history of the U.S. was bullshit, but this is an eye-opener as to the depth of the lies and omissions.

Friend gave me a pile of fantasy\scifi. Many I've already read, but sooo many new (to me) titles. Gonna be sorted for a while.

I should post here more often I read almost every day. I recently had to take a break from The Mind Gut Connection to start The Gospel of Râmakrishna.
The mind gut connection is about how what we eat affects our moods and feelings. Seems obvious right but the book tells of so much I never knew and I have been studying health and the body my whole adult life. Highly recommend!
The Gospel of Râmakrishna is a spiritual book where a disciple or the Râmakrishna basically wrote down words and conversations of his Guru ver batim while sitting around with Him many years ago. So far its phenomenal.
Much love everyone, keep reading books!

A shot of my shelf. That's "Snake 'N' Bacon's Cartoon Cabaret" on the left end in red, "This is Memorial Device" on the right.

Here you go, a full list of every book recommended mentioned in this thread as extracted by GPT 4.
https://controlc.com/c36e0ac3
I won't be doing that again though. Running this full thread through GPT 4 was way more expensive than what I expected lol (nothing too bad, worth the experiment)

High Weirdness: Drugs, Esoterica, and Visionary Experience in the Seventies by Erik Davis
This book is an exploration of the philosophies of Terence McKenna, Robert Anton Wilson and Philip K. Dick. I'm a few pages into it and it's great.

I picked up The Great Gatsby, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and For Whom the Bell Tolls today.
I've been working on Sophie's Choice for forever. Its such a downer, and a dense novel. The chapters get longer and longer as the book goes on too. Hopefully I'll get it finished in the next week or so.
