I'll just shove it back in if I cough :awedance:

The pain I was experiencing wasn't from it becoming impacted or the circulation being cut off, so they decided it wasn't an emergency situation, but I'll be talking with a surgeon within a couple days, so its not not serious, just not an emergency.

Agreed. There are typically different circumstances at play but the emotional weight is pretty comparable. Doing it yourself isn't pleasant but shirking the responsibility to a neighbor just adds the guilt of having someone else do it because you can't bring yourself to do it.

Putting down my cat was pretty hard. I don't think she was ready but her body was done. Her sister keeps looking for her and it breaks my heart. She almost made it to 19.

In the spirit of Roscoe I confess I owned an over-engineered glovebox, complete with yellow rubbermaid gloves attached to the grey tote with unwieldy pvc fittings and i though it was fkn cool. It is an 18yo experience at this point though. I alos used to go relieve the nearby USPS of their tyvek mailers and I still have a big stack of them.

Morning everyone.  Well my vet bud came over last night.  She felt that frank doesnt seem to be in a lot of pain or that we need to do much right now. We drank a bottle of wine and she cheered me up.  Seems like ill get at least a few more weeks with him.  She gave him a meloxicam scrip and a ton of needles and after last nights dose this motherfucker RAN down the stairs and started holllering at me about breakfast.  🥹


Dude just knows how to appreciate nice things like a nice morning.

In the interim, it might help to get a waiste belt to kinda hold stuff in place.  Theyll get you buttoned back up in no time bud.  And hey good news! You get to have surgery!


Lol i kid but not really.  Ive had so many surgeries ive lost count but i learned to love it.  You get to just sit on ass and play vids, get taken care of by your buds and fam.  And druqs!  Druqs rule sometimes.  Ah, i have fond memories of my surgery recoveries. 

I have some great vid recomendations depending on what platform you have.

I confess I've been up to some snail based shenanigans.
I found three mysteries and tossed them into my makeshift aquarium inside. I should be able to survive no problem in here because it never drops into their deadly range.
I couldn't help myself I wanted to check on these Japanese trap door snails.
One of them was partly open and didn't even react when I first got it but it didn't smell so I threw it in there.
I'm pretty sure every single snail survived. These things are hardy as fuck. They have gills and can survive under a solid sheet of ice.

And yeah, my partner keeps assuring me that surgery isn't that bad and that they're gonna get me really high lol. Just waiting for them to be like, why isn't the ketamine working?? lol. I should def look for something to kinda keep everything in place in the meantime, kind of a tough spot for that though, maybe some sort of sexy leather crotchless jock strap lol. I'll def hit you up for some recovery watching recs when the time comes.

Gen: snails are cool as shit! They can kinda take over an aquarium from what friends who have them have said, probably depends a lot on what kind of snail though. Come to think of it, I think they were dealing with more of a pest species that hitched a ride on something else they got. But they did have some intentional snails too, one of them used to surf around on a leaf in the filter flow all the time.

They don't really give you ketamine prior to surgery they give to during surgery.  That has to do with Neuro monitoring. I'm not sure if they would bother with that for this because it's a fairly routine thing. Typically they do monitoring so that they don't damage other nerve systems. Ketamine is kind of like putting a compression pedal on the signal. Makes it a lot easier to read.

But what they will give you Valium! Mmmmmm

Like I said though dude I think I've had over 20 surgeries. And a lot of them not routine. One of them was totally under emergency circumstances where I had lost enough blood for two transfusions.

Normal routine surgeries require pretty light anesthesia. Trust me it's a pretty good time. For sure having your abdominal wall Cut is no kind of fun but there's worse things

You have the right to demand anesthesia. There's no fucking way I would let them do that without it. They wanted to do this gnarly ass procedure on my face without anesthesia and I just said thanks but no thanks and went elsewhere. They literally had to peel half my face off. When I told the surgeon who did it that the guys before wanted to do it without anesthesia he was appalled . He didn't even believe me.  He was like that's barbaric.

Anyway yeah you definitely want anesthesia.  Unless you really want to come away from this with some medical trauma. The psychological fallout of seeing your own guts cannot be understated.  Just trust me on that one
