Little update. The bin is getting full. The invitro pins are looking a bit gnarly but I don’t think they will abort. Won’t be too pretty but I mostly want prints more than anything. I think the bin is doing not bad for conditions.

After talking about risers for making prints, a super simple idea for making them popped into my head. A 30-degree wire "V", three more bends — and done.



And here’s my first cake from the battle — sorry for taking the picture from the outside, but I don't want to intimidate them. The second one is already on its way too. Another three are pinning...



Pasty, you're competing in Cake Wars and on top of that, you're gonna get a nice canopy. :biggrin:

Does anyone inoculate by using blender less LI, particularly without a syringe? I got some wide mouth jars today and I'm interested in trying some cakes but I don't have any syringes 😂

3 practice Jars and one single CW birthed today! Got some jar fruits.

Cw cake (i will put the required pics in my “im in” post when needed).

The two skinnys on the left are tamps I had to pull early froma tub  and were in my fridge two days.

Got some pins on a couple of the tampanensis BRF cakes cased with pasteurized jiffy mix/sand.

Well, this is the first cake from the first batch for the battle...



Not bad, but it lacked that divine spark. I'd prefer smaller specimens, but a denser flush. But hey, at least I got a few prints out of it.

I do -- I briefly open the cake jar in my SAB and pour in some LI. A little more info here and here. I usually do cakes that way now.
