I'm pretty sure I have 3 duds, still nothing at all on the 3 Tasmanian half pints (over 3 weeks), no worries, we play the numbers game, they aren't all winners.

I totally made a batch that I added water to while I was experiencing the same thing when trying to get to field capacity. Then I smacked the jars and they compacted like crazy during PCing. I didnโ€™t chuck them and they are pretty interesting. Donโ€™t think they will be able to colonize fully but we will see, just kept them to see what happens. They were really packed down.

Thanks. I started doing the mounds because I couldn't get verm to stick to my cakes. ๐Ÿ˜†

Not really, I've done them right side up, upside down and sideways. I haven't noted any particular difference. I don't know that they care at all, but I did this batch with the same side up as they had while colonizing.
