Busted the cakes open and saw zero growth. Either the pucks lied to me or the survivors are doing ok. Back ups are humming right along tho!

I'm pretty sure I have 3 duds, still nothing at all on the 3 Tasmanian half pints (over 3 weeks), no worries, we play the numbers game, they aren't all winners.

RIP Fallen Soldiers
:thanxx:

:thanxx:

Tri-
I totally made a batch that I added water to while I was experiencing the same thing when trying to get to field capacity. Then I smacked the jars and they compacted like crazy during PCing. I didn’t chuck them and they are pretty interesting. Don’t think they will be able to colonize fully but we will see, just kept them to see what happens. They were really packed down.

The wild cubes are offering up some nice variations. Gonna have some big solo fellas and some tight clusters to work with.

Interesting that you go verm side up. Any reason for that?

Thanks. I started doing the mounds because I couldn't get verm to stick to my cakes. 😆

Not really, I've done them right side up, upside down and sideways. I haven't noted any particular difference. I don't know that they care at all, but I did this batch with the same side up as they had while colonizing.

Damn, pardon my expression, but — such a dumb problem led to such an elegant solution. I love it!
