I'll try to reconstruct what I did below.

Made 2 monotubs with some colonized chips from last year's indoor attempt on April 23rd:

I remember having the mycelium colonize most of the wood chips pretty fast. Then some gnats entered in and the boxes had to move outside, where they were all summer long, without lids. I had them dry out and at some point filled up both of the monotubs with bti-water to combat the gnats. That did help btw. We had a brutally hot and dry summer and both substrates dried out again.

Next up was a second bti-dunk of 36 hours, after which I closed the holes up with poly. Both boxes were brought inside the house again and kept under favorable conditions (as you would treat any other monotub). The mycelium responded by rapidly colonizing the top layer of wood chips that had been dry during most of the summer.

I checked. Brought into the house on 22nd of August.



August 28th cased with potting soil, straight from the bag. Kept the surface very wet from here on.



And first connected the tubs to my automated tubs system.

A defect in one of my timers made it so that there were prolonged periods where the entire monotub was saturated with mist. That really made the difference I think.

I already know it is! I might though. Just to prove the point.

However, what I also find most interesting is that once one has a full tub of mycelium, one can go on forever by multiplying, without ever doing a minute of sterile work again. It's super easy to just expand wood 2 wood.

Haha yea I tossed some ps cyanescens woodchips in a bucket with branches from a vine like nuisance that's super woody though grows as fast as blackberry's

Got jumpoff in a week n hella white

Though I have no info on the India woodlover rlly except what I've seen here so idk how well it does like that πŸ˜…

Check out this spiderweb πŸ˜€ This is not completely unexpected. There is probably a lot of life in both tubs. Gnats are already erupting. Hopefully I can keep them in check until harvest time. After that I will BTI-dunk the whole substrate anyway.

This species likes super wet conditions. I mist them quite heavily, every day. The fruits love it. There will be excess water pooling up at the bottom after a while. I pour it away every time it reaches a level of about 1cm/0.4", just about every 3 days.
