https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogdoad_(Gnosticism)

Quote:
The Ogdoad (Greek: ὀγδοάς) is a purported supercelestial region beyond the seven heavens theorized in Gnostic systems of the early Christian era. The concept was further developed by the theologian Valentinus (ca. 160 AD).

The number eight plays an important part in Gnostic systems, and it is necessary to distinguish the different forms in which it appeared at different stages in the development of Gnosticism. The earliest Gnostic systems included a theory of seven heavens and a supercelestial region called the Ogdoad. Astronomical theories had introduced the concept of seven planetary spheres with an eighth above them, the sphere of the fixed stars.

In the system of Valentinus, the seven heavens, and even the region above them, were regarded as but the lowest and last stage of the exercise of creative power. Above them was the Pleroma, where were exhibited the first manifestations of the evolution of subordinate existence from the great First Principle.

My brain is fried at the present moment, but that is surely something I will come back to and read more into. I have a serious attraction to all things Ancient Greek

From the Sophia of Jesus

Quote:
Whoever, then, knows the Father in pure knowledge will depart to the Father and repose in Unbegotten Father. But whoever knows him defectively will depart to the defect and the rest of the Eighth. Now whoever knows Immortal Spirit of Light in silence, through reflecting and consent in the truth, let him bring me signs of the Invisible One, and he will become a light in the Spirit of Silence. Whoever knows Son of Man in knowledge and love, let him bring me a sign of Son of Man, that he might depart to the dwelling-places with those in the Eighth.

This is interesting, distinguishing the Lord of the Universe from the Unbegotten Father, or something.

Quote:
The perfect Savior said: "Come (you) from invisible things to the end of those that are visible, and the very emanation of Thought will reveal to you how faith in those things that are not visible was found in those that are visible, those that belong to Unbegotten Father. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear!

"The Lord of the Universe is not called 'Father', but 'Forefather', the beginning of those that will appear, but he (the Lord) is the beginningless Forefather. Seeing himself within himself in a mirror, he appeared resembling himself, but his likeness appeared as Divine Self-Father, and <as> Confronter over the Confronted ones, First Existent Unbegotten Father. He is indeed of equal age <with> the Light that is before him, but he is not equal to him in power.

I love this bringing signs for your place. For could you bring signs of the Son of Man by bringing the joy? Could you bring signs of the Invisible One? Yes.

Perhaps we would have time to meditate on it if needed before offering. Maybe not necessary for you will be seen as you are completely, and that's a very good thing from their sight. They see their likeness.

Our ego thoughts, don't know.

"The Chidakash Gita, Kashmir Shaivism is about the air, ajapa japa, breath awareness, mantra with it a natural flow."

I say that but I think spinvis, maybe Lithop gave more extensive research on Kashmir Shaivism. What I know is simple given in a beginner book by Muktananda who I know had some problems with PR. But his guru, Nityananda of Ganeshpuri, is a great one. Just the teachings of Om Namah Shivaya, and So'Ham, ajapa mantra, and introduction to Nityananda.

Shiva's grace is reputed and is experience as just, so easily available, like a friend. And manifest uniquely in these ones like Nityananda, and Ramana. Actually with Ramana sometimes I feel inadequate, with any of them at times, but he had the mountain who is Shiva, what's it called? ... :headscratch:

I was seeing a lot about this holy mountain, in the context of the flash floods in Nepal - Mount Kailash, “considered the abode of Shiva”.

Apparently no one has ever climbed it? In Tibet:

Quote:
Mount Kailash is located close to Manasarovar and Rakshastal lakes. The sources of four rivers–Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Ghaghara–lie in the vicinity of the region. The mountain is considered sacred in Bon, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Various groups undertake pilgrimages to the mountain, which generally involves trekking towards Lake Manasarovar and a circumambulation of the mountain.

While the mountain has been surveyed by climbers in the past, there has been no recorded successful ascent of the mountain. The climbing of the mountain is prohibited by the Chinese government due to its religious significance.

The suggestion was working in the instant yesterday, internally being at Kailash. Wonderful images. I was having problems with quality, and some clarity came through like, 'the turiya is always there.'

I was reading and if I gathered right, Arunachala represents Shiva as the great pillar. The version I read recently was that the pillar was of fire; before I'd thought of it as a solidity of being.

But it went to the story of Shiva teaching Brahma and Vishnu a lesson. He challenged them to find it's limit. Vishnu became a boar, and dug down into the earth to find the bottom, returning admitting he could not. Brahma became a swan, and brought back a flower as evidence he found the top but it wasn't the truth, which brought trouble for him.

I read something the other day saying, once the mind goes to sleep, or the thoughts are stilled, it is free from the control of the moon, this implying I thought about the Saturn-moon matrix. I imagined meditating out there around the moon and looking from there to Saturn to see what's up. It would be a good place to meditate together too. :yesnod:
