That's one for my bucket list. Something I have never encountered in the wild. I guess my friends are lame

Joe, Congrats man!

Belintaf, Thanks for sharing your story!

Hippie, one of my best trips was on the shore of Lake Erie during the summer. I split a tab of black pyramid with my friend and we had a blast all night on the beach and in a cottage his uncle rented. Enjoy!

@ beef: all the best to you! Hope you have a good one and it brings you some peace. And fingers crossed for the financial situation...

@ Zef: the trick is to be so exhausted, so totally done for, that you will sleep regardless, standing upright on glowing embers if need be. We just came back from a festival. Camped straight in front of the subwoofers of the hitech stage (so 180 - 250 bpm thunder for four nights) with several generators and soundsystems within a 20 meter range. Can't say I felt totally refreshed afterwards, but sure did get my sleep.

@hippie: fuck yeah dude. Have a blast!! Good to see you around more. Little Marley chomping away less of your nights?

Yeah the sea and tripping... This is no advice whatsoever, but I once ate a lot of shrooms and went for a swim in a raging thunderstorm, one of the most awe-inspiring things I ever saw. And once went swimming with a French couple, middle of the night, in the caldera of Santorini island, Greece. With bioluminescent algae turning our every movement into sparks. I still regret, to this day, that I didn't bring a stash of acid that night.

Anyway you are all nuts, and I scored a lot of cheap 69,5% ethanol, so 1+1

Re: Cultivation confessional [Re: matsc] * 3

I have to confess, yesterday my blood was boiling, my face twisted with rage, my survival instincts kicked in, I turned into a villain, and I couldn't think of anything except the total annihilation of those ungrateful little creatures... when, at 2 a.m., I discovered that ants were invading my apartment.

On the fourth floor!

Pheidole pallidula, a.k.a. the Tiny Little Bastards.

I found about five of them wandering around my mushroom room... So I placed all the fruiting chambers and colonizing cups in trays filled with water to create little defensive moats.

We're under attack.

I tracked the trail back to a hole near the radiator in the living room — they've been identified. This morning I bought some ant gel bait to poison the entire colony. I don't know what this will do to my karma... I think about it, and then I forget about it.

If anyone has a trustworthy anteater available for crop security, please get in touch. Previous experience required.

Hugs

I confess this made sad

Nursed  this baby back to health over the past year and then lost it last week in  some super heavy thunderstorms that I was not able to remove them from..

I have yet to try Cactus either. But its def in my future

@churp.  Hell ya bro. Marlee is wonderful!  And yes actually over the past month shes started sleeping between 5-8 hours a night. And we're loving it.

And actually, I've taken 2c-e before at this same beach. The day before a huge hurricane was touching down.  Something like a hundred miles out at the time. It was absolutely insane the shore was basically gone.  It reminded me of the movie Point Break.. at the end when he goes and surfs in the 100-year storm.

Pure energy.

Thanks for the positivity bro. It's nice to be back around. I missed you guys.

Ps. Bioluminescent Plankton and algae sounds dreamy as fuck. That had to be one hell of an experience.. with or without acid...

I confess

I've been on Hiatus for the better part of a year now. Last shroom I grew was in Jan.

I took a sabbatical from cultivating in order to focus on cultivating life. And now that we've succeeded. The hiatus is over. I'm ready to get back into it!

Greatest thing I ever cultivated.. my life's work.

I'm being lazy/procrastinating... The PC I have is a knockoff n I can't put a presto 15 psi weight on it because the valve threading is slightly bigger than the hole.

Should I use a drill to force thread it n attach a nut the gripper piece to it n the mesh cap over the top of it or should I eat the 150 usd loss n buy a presto cooker or autoclave.

Also confessing I'm tilted the ffu I was gonna get didn't go through. They knew nothing about the unit or where playing dumb refusing to plug it in n make a short video showing it works

Congrats, Hippie! She’s beautiful, and I’m glad she’s letting you and your partner sleep. Those first six months or so can be rough depending on how they’re inclined to be!

I was just teaching my oldest how to put together bags of king oysters this last weekend and thinking about how the parenting journey just gets better and better in such surprising ways. There’s nothing more rewarding or challenging that I’ve ever done!

I confess, I am procrastinating doing my taxes and it's Aug. 8.
I owe them alot anyway, the feds. They can suck my ass in public like bangbus for salty dissenters.
I am doing creative writing prose and working on several projects simultaenously instead. Some of them are for the site, others are for myself, others are for others.
I am btinng off more than I can chew, but it's for the best. My life is good, I made a new friend, and am getting high-potency chocolates, candies and edibles from her, as well as a large bag of moonrocks left at my garage tonight after a smoke session. Next I will probably go hang out with them and smoke. I've been a hermit for so long, I forgot what being social is like, unless it's the terminally online kind of social. I need more high-density THC cannibinoids (terminology?) and edibles because I have been tearing my lungs up due to my sky-high tolerance, an impending t-break whether I like it or not..
But at least I have two jobs and stable income in a bad economy, and plenty of food, and a portable cultivation workstation environment that fits in the back of small uhaul van or hertz/penske rental, passenger or cargo van/midsize-van.

I have insurance that covers therapy to an extent. I'm hoping that I can get a good base to work with in a few sessions. Just spent the last few hours typing part of the history of my childhood. That fuckin sucked. I think that's part of why I have been avoiding therapy because I did not want to have to recall all of that shit. Fuck, man. I'm gonna grill a steak, drink a bottle of wine with it then bash myself in the head with the empty bottle until I lose consciousness.

One of the best things about therapy is that you can rationalize and accept internal trauma. You learn to bring it out of under the carpet, stare at it for hours, befriend it, and become pleasantly acquainted by its presence.

Your trauma will never leave you, it is part of what makes you, you. What leaves you is the pain that it causes.

.this is very accurate.

I confess Ive been having contamination issues and was blaming the labs temperatures I was working in (90-100+ degrees). I finally realized what it actually was..

I've been storing my plates in my dirt ass basement since it's the only place under 80 degrees in the house. I started wiping the outside of the plates down with disinfecting wipes before they enter the SAB. No more contamination :mushroom2:

Thanks friend! I'm pretty happy about it too.

You are not alone is procrastinating taxes. My accountant seems to have dropped off the face of the planet. Guess it'll get done eventually

Said similarly to my wife the other week, the feds can lick my sweaty grundle. They are fantastic at wasting tax payer dollars, which makes me feel not so bad about it. Why the hell should we have to pay taxes when almost all the money goes to the 1%. what are they hassling some overworked blue collar folks for anyways. Oh yeah: because it wouldn't be "fair" if only the rich paid taxes, because they "earned" it. What a scam.

The economy is fucked everywhere, unfortunately. If all the rich hoarders put their "savings" back into circulation, we'd all be sitting around twiddling our thumbs. Why doesn't money have an expiration date?

At least I feel privileged not to have to pay taxes, unless you count taxes on everyday prices. Long live the dark side of the tomato.

Agar Wedge, we're having a historic summer here. We've had around 120 heat records already, and there's still all of August to go... We're in one of the cooler parts of the country for this time of year, and we've been dealing with temperatures of 38–40°C for the past month and a half, with no end in sight. Normally, it's 10–12 degrees cooler here.

In the 14 years I've been making a living as a street performer, I've never lost a summer season—which is when we make the most money—until this year. And on top of that, I decide to get back into growing under extreme conditions. Then the ants invade. And all that's missing now is for the neighbor next door to start renovating his place.

But it's okay, I'm okay. It's an exercise in patience and humility. In separating wellbeing from "external factors." In waiting... for the cooler weather to arrive, for the mushrooms to grow, for some kind of collective consciousness renaissance to happen (gotta stay optimistic), for the cat to make it through another year.

The only thing that genuinely pisses me off, and that I really miss, is being at the campsite, waking up to birdsong and breathing fresh air as soon as I open my eyes.

Hugs

The word taxes gives me anxiety. Filled an extension but taxes in multiple places with different tax law is dumb. I don’t even have my books settled for last year. I am happy to pay taxes (in a round about way that’s how I get paid) but damn it’s expensive to even find out how much you owe.
