Yin and Yang and thanking the difficult past * 2

I am a result of everything before me. Everything difficult, easy and neutral.

I'm thankful for the difficult, as I am with the easy. I certainly wouldn't be here without it.

I have a great affinity to the concept of Yin and Yang. Neither exists on its own. And one is only whole with both.

I agree with the general sentiment. It's a lot easier to appreciate difficult experiences looking back than it is while you're living through them. I do wonder though if every hardship has to be viewed as something we're "meant" to be thankful for, or if sometimes it's enough to simply acknowledge that it shaped us. Either way, I think gratitude for where you are now can coexist with recognizing that some experiences were genuinely awful.

the gratitude may be an expression of letting go which sometimes looks like gratitude, and other times looks like trusting, and fundamentally is the letting go of tensions.
