Throttled WAY down on the bubbler and added a handful of 1/4” holes below sub surface level.  Bubbler goes on for 1 min and 20 mins off.  Box fan goes on for 3 mins every 2 hours.  Rh sits at 92-93% (never goes above 95 even when the bubbler runs—got really lucky guessin those times) and drops to 80% when the fan goes on.

Welcome back Faht (and the JCM), I just got the indoor GH up and running... Alright STOP... Fogger Time!

Oh the dissection thing was traumatizing for me. I didn't have language for it at the time but my impression was essentially, Jesus Christ I'm surrounded by psychopaths!

I am currently living with a feline psychopath; her name is Zoe and she's something else, let's just say that.  My wife can't take what she does (so I take care of it), but yeah, I won't give details, it's some torturous sadistic stuff sometimes (birds are her favorite). She enjoys her handy work just a little too much, crazy killer cat.

I taught my little psychopath a command while playing with him on acid one night.

No claws.

He caught a chipmunk outside.  And I talked him into letting it go by saying no claws repeatedly.

I miss him.  He trip set me a lot while my partner was away.  I think a coyote got him over covid

If we ever get a cat again they're staying inside.

Anyway, here's some recent Pan India microscopy to get back on topic.  What's interesting about this species microscopically is that it has a good mix of two, three, and four spored basidia.  Bisporus very occasionally has four (I have never seen one).  And cyanescens very occasionally has two.  But they both tend to be very dominant towards one or the other.

I also like how pointy the metuloids are.

Kloakk im reading the dreamer tub thread and saw you used the RH sensor to control the misting on and off. Do you still use it or went on a timer like some others?

If you still use the RH to control it any advice on where to start for like the pinning stage? What kind of rh % to set and what rh differential to start back on? Its first time ill use the dreamer so would be nice to just have a start and ill dial things myself after.

I got the T5 cloudforge humidifier with the controller.

This is what my setup looks like

Its a pretty big 105 qt tub

I plan on running both fan on the lowest setting always. They are also a bit lower to circulate the air under the trays for the seed heating pad.

Yes, I am still using the humidity sensor(auto) on my humidifiers to maintain humidity. For pans I usually start at 85%, but there are other factors that will influence conditions and why I suggest to use the casing as your main factor to increase or decrease the % on your T5.

For pans I'm looking for a humidity that will keep my casing from drying out, but just barely. You will notice that the diffirent container/tray and how much you fill them will have a big impact on how much humidity gets trapped inside the tray.

Another thing is how the humidity will increase as water accumulate at the bottom of your dreamer and the humidifier will come on less frequently even though your casing is evaporating at the same speed. That is why I always start at 85% and use the casing to fine tune the %, hope any of this helps

Hello! Would you say this jar is bacterial? It's a jar of oats hydrated to 72.5%, sterilized in an industrial sterilizer at 15PSI for 4 hours (with venting in the beginning).
It was inoculated 11 days ago with two wedges of p. cyan Estero from a culture that has been through a couple cabin sequestering plates (sorry I don't have a picture of the plate), all sterile procedures were done in front of a flow hood.

Does it happen to you to have condensation in the area of the glass close to the wedge, similar to this picture?

Help me with my first pan grow 🥲

Looks fine from here, condensation will usually increase when there is a lot of temperature flocculation. Mycelium also produce some heat and could be the reason you have a little condensation around the mycelium. Either way I wouldn't worry about it at this point.

It looks like it's ready for a break&shake if you want :awesomenod:

Also, those big lights are going to promote a lot of evaporation.  In other words they can dry out a casing.

And I'm not saying don't use them, I'm just saying be mindful that that is also a factor.

Ok thx guys. So if I notice my casing is drying a bit I let my fogger run for a couple minutes then check again until it looks right etc. then come back in like an hour and check on it again?

So I could build a schedule on a timer for the fogger over time with trial and error like some do. Its true that relying on just the RH alone doesnt seem optimal, if theres allready a lot of moisture in the tub it seems to take a long time for the rh to drop.

If your casing is drying and turning a lighter brown, increase the auto rH a couple of % and see if it stops the casing from drying out. It is supposed to be a automated tub after you dial it in :awesomenod:

Im testing stuff atm with nothing in it just to see. If I set the humidifier to 90% with 4 output out of 10 it will stop at 90% but reaches 95% after it stopped is that normal?
Seems like it increases too much beyond what I want, perhaps set it to like 2 output?

Hey guys,

my first attempts growing pans in a jcm tub were not very successful. So i wanna try with a martha tent right now.

This is the stuff i have bought.

tent:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DY89RZQZ?ref_=pe_123509780_1038749300_i_fed_asin_title#immersive-view_1784143957942

humidifier:

https://acinfinity.com/cloudforge-t3-plant-humidifier-4-5l-with-vpd-humidity-controls/

controller:

https://acinfinity.com/controller-69-pro-smart-climate-controller-uis-4-port-with-temp-humidity-vpd-sensor/?searchid=3974142&search_query=Controller+69+pro

Can you recommend a fan for this setup?
Thanks in advance.

That is completely normal and I have mine on 10, quick to fill the tubs and quick to turn off. I have the small T3 though so you might be right to not turn it to 10.
2 minutes after the humidifier turns off you'll be back at 90% anyway so don't worry about it, like I did :muppet:

I know it sounds kind of fucked up, but when you get a tray in the dreamer and can keep an eye on the casing, it will be so much easier to dial it in. And if it doesn't, post a picture and we'll do our best to give advice

First successfull Cyan clones (thanks to Fahtsters skinning technique) and there's already knotting and pins after 2.5 weeks.

Pretty surprised to see this as this is on bacterial, no nutrient agar water.

Yep that looks great!

I do tend to see them thicken up over time once they're spawned to bulk, but on grain and early on substrate they aren't as dense as cyans.

Ms tree frog what setting should I use for the warm mist function on the t5 humidifier? I keep the temp at 26c with a heating pad but the warm mist seems like a cool option to not have the temp drop everytime the fogger turns on.

I just dont want the fog to be too warm and mess the temp inside. What setting you use personally 1 to 10?
