Use BRF pucks to germinate, then select the cleanest looking growth and transfer it to agar. Work the culture there until spotlessly clean, THEN put it in some LC if you must.

In agar we trust.

Working plates is THE base skill of this hobby.  Once you get proficient at plate work all the rest will suddenly make sense, and you will be able to test any culture.  You can’t make reliably clean lc without agar plates, not that lc is even needed unless you’re working in volume.

Agar > grain > substrate (coir, straw, poo… but use coir)

Once you can do that process reliably, then expand to LC.
