Wait, I actually want to hear more about this business of brussels and asparagus in the airfryer. I like steaming them and roasting them, but it's a bit of a pain because my wife is SUPER particular about how they turn out.

the point is, you are the schizophrenic that says that 2 apples + 2 apples equals to 55 horses.

while you are tripping you are not in your right mind, you are high, thus you can't assume anything, or say that what you have experienced to be the absolute truth.

No no no you fucking chuds don't get it. No one can KNOW anything. Nothing is real. If a nerd with cystic acne doesn't publish it in a journal it's not fact, it's conjecture. You're all retarded, and that's a peer reviewed fact. I'm your peer, I reviewed it, and I'm publishing it here. So maybe just relax and start air frying your mushrooms or eating them fresh but watch out your teeth actually probably might maybe destroy the actives worse than time and temperature or something.

Fools.

Whatever.

I KNOW for a fact that the superior method is to pick fresh pins, blend them in fresh water under a vacuum, and then immediately boof the slurry with a deworming syringe. If it was good enough for my grandpappy, then it's good enough for me.

Deworming syringe? Wow stuck in the 90s huh. Typical. I have a drill pump and some aquarium tubing to make sure I get it boofed as quickly as possible without any potency loss. Although, come to think of it, the drill pump might result in a 40-95% degradation of alkaloids. Someone, quick, put a test kit up my ass.

Wow.  This thread is really taking off now.  Fuck yeah.  Here we go.

Not to derail, but B, man, airfryers kinda rule for certain fiberuous stuff.  I like to take my brussels or 'spare-guts'
and--in the bag i bought em in--throw in olive oil and a bit of sesame oil, sea salt, and a ridiculous amount of minced garlic.  Shake it all up then i throw it down on parchement paper and air fry it.  Brussels take around 17min.  Spare guts like 13. Good shit.

But ya know man, ive probably been doing it wrong all along.  Probably im losing at least 20% of the scrumptiousness.

We absolutely love our air fryer. We got a big ole Ninja unit on deep deep discount at the store early this year. Use it every day. Great for veggies and frozen foods. Highly recommend.

Im tripping and like abstract thoughts. In a way the guys using the dehydrators are the current innovators since its a relatively new invention.

:ughfine:

I get the vibe this was all over intellectualised drama to justify using the fams air fryer instead of just buying something designed and tested exactly for this.

You know, a thing for drying and preserving food while retaining as much of its "natural benefits" as possible, with obviously a small trade off for having the ability to store them long term with minimal losses, like beefy says, they'll keep for a long time.

What nobody is mentioning is that any losses or perceived inefficiencies are mostly eclipsed by the metric fuck tonnes of cube shrooms that can grow with little efforts once someone knows what they're doing, especially with culture selection and isolations.

And they grow sooooo fast, and so easy to produce, that needing to store and preserving is also moot since anyone can essentially have fresh shrooms on tap if they want that.

If you want stronger shrooms, or bored and want a challenge, grow some exotics.

So chiron and Dave, show ur dick pics, wouldn't you rather be harvesting the epic tubs you are so concerned about preserving correctly that its just turned into arguing past each other about all this stuff

You've both stopped engaging in any real conversations so there really isn't anything to gain here for anyone other than being entertaining, or infuriating to anyone reading now and till the end of time.....

Eww, that was exhausting, I feel kind of dirty now, and I just had a shower.

This is probably one of the big factors here, and for many posts like this about growing, preserving, extracting or whatever.

When you can grow them, and for the first time have more than you know what to do with, and you just went full spartan, hopefully a different understanding takes hold.

Even though the title of the post is about air fryer, the question was answered in the first page and I agreed. The whole post had become heat vs no heat dehydration.

I never went against dehydrators lol. And I can't buy one. Is not possible to buy one. Don't ask why, just is. Don't say go to Goodwill because Goodwill doesn't exist where I live.

I will test for my own risk and see how it goes, and that's it. I'm not saying to anyone to test it.

Actually, that's unironically a really good point right there. I was just talking with a friend who regaled me with stories about his buddy who used to pick field shrooms and sell them on Dead tour back in the late 80's. He mentioned helping this guy hang many lbs of shrooms from clotheslines all over an apartment where they just had a bunch of box fans running. I remember scoring shrooms for the first time around then, and scoring my first qp of cultivated shrooms a few years later. All of them were quite obviously air-dried, and also fully intact.

I did actually score a spore syringe and instruction booklet from Psilocybe Fanaticus about 25 years ago, a couple years before the Feds crawled up his butt. The core of PF tek remains the same, and has stood the test of time. But there was a lot of auxiliary stuff laid out in that booklet that hasn't. The drying method he laid out- that I followed religiously- was predicated on the idea that heat destroys potency. It involved building a frame and attaching a screen to it, putting fruits on top of the screen, and then sealing the whole thing up in thick plastic sheeting with a bunch of damprid in the bottom. It worked, and the fruits I got from that little adventure didn't last very long anyway.

When I started cultivating in earnest, I still somewhat bought into "heat kills potency." More to the point, though, I was cheap and stubborn and going for :yields:, and figured that an Excalibur would be the only dehydrator that could possibly fit the volume of fruits I was hoping to produce. Back then, I was also still keeping them intact, due to interest in bag appeal. So I got a bunch of these hanging weed drying racks and went all Wile E. Coyote in designing a whole drying room.

Then I realized that was silly, and bought a small cheap dehydrator.

So it's not just that dehydrators are a recent invention. It's that cheap effective dehydrators that can handle a large amount of material are an even MORE recent invention, and the idea that heat kills potency...well, we're still fighting it, aren't we?

I dunno, though. I'm just a stick in the mud who's been blindly using my dehydrator for years now. And my french press, and my toaster oven, and...

Ok, ok, different question:

What about air-frying shrooms?

Should I use breading or nah?
