Is it a good idea to go from cake -> mono or better cake -> shoebox -> mono?

Shoeboxes are more forgiving because if one quart of spawn is bad, then you only lose that shoebox. With a monotub, if one of 5 is bad, so is everything.

What you mean by tall smaller contenair ? Equivalent of a monotub capacity in a smaller contenair ? I guess it s the same issue then ?

Strain- wild P cubenis
First time grower. Grain spawn to bulk substrate
Day- 12
Contents- 400g spawn, 300gm Coco coir, 250gm vermiculite and 20gm gypsum
Casing layer- No
Field capacity- 02 drops
One micropore filter on top.
One micropore tape in the middle.

Day-9 to 12
inoculation points of small mycelium lumps just keep on growing fatter at their own sites and are not travelling through coir.

Experienced growers kindly guide what to do next.

Like how did you go about getting wild cubensis cleaned up and inocculated into the bag...?

What does field capacity - 02 drops mean?

It's better to use volume when measuring ratios.

Are there Pics of the spawn...?

Did you use SAB...?

But it's not looking good.

Like a shoebox footprint but taller so you don't need to dub tub.

I took spore print of the mushroom. Then made a agar culture, then spawn bags and now at this stage.

Field capacity - 02 drops on squeezing the bulk substrate.

There are no pics of spawn. From one same spawn bag, I am fruiting directly with a casing layer alongside this bag.

Attached of the fruiting bag on day 12

This is a ziplock bag grow that i put in my tub since I had room. it was supposed to be penis envy but now.... Idk. Could it be Charlie brown or GT? All these mushrooms are starting to look the same. I think something may have gotten mixed up.

Hey goat, I noticed that and tried to help.

Did I get troll rolled?

They seemed to have been clicking on the "similar threads" at the bottom of the only main post they made, all related to spawning pinning ect.. but unaware of the date on the threads.

I message and tried to help them focus their posts here for help, not necro bump any thread mentioning pinning from 18 year ago.

Here is the advice I gave in a thread he bumped from 18 years ago.

What is this sort of white dusting on the top of my Tidal Wave? Two out of three bins have it. 1 bin is on flush 2. The other two are on their first flush.

Hello buds, I have recently gotten a liquid culture going after injection with a spore syringe, it was sunday (04.19.2026) and it seems to have been growing fine since then, no clear signs of contamination in the second jar, but the other I’m not so sure. I hereby wish to ask people with more experience about their opinion. I have 2 LC jars 100ml each, 4% honey solution. Tell me if you spot anything concerning, thanks in advance!

That is hard core wet bubble (mycogone) and your bag is a complete loss. That stuff is contagious and will mess up your space if you don't rid your self of it post haste.
