Its about the MUSIC not the DRUGS
    #2944410 -

Lets be honest, the jamband scene is fucked up. Filled with a bunch of sophmoric kids looking to get fucked up not caring about the music. There ARE alot of people who do care about the music but a good percent are looking for drugs. So now a bunch of pharmies and shit are going around the jamband scene and selling because society has realized that its like a market place for drugs. Both a place to MAKE alot of money, or find alot of drugs. So how do you get rid of a bunch of kids who don't care about the music and only the drugs? Get rid of the drugs and get the scene back into the groove. Doing this will filter out the bad people and get the scene back how it was. Bring your own drugs if you HAVE to get fucked up at a concert. You know, if its good music you dont' anything to enhance the show. you can find drugs outside of concerts to bring in, you do it all the time... Its about the music not the drugs.

Believe me i'm not against drugs in anyway, I LOVE LSD and many drugs of sorts. But I don't want a bunch of assholes standing in my way of a good show just so they can get high.

This above is just a theory of why the scene sucks now I know this one post won't change many minds at all.

I agree, I mean its nice to have drugs availible at shows that you normally wouldn't run into, however there are soooo many dirty scandalous people nowdays that are selling bunk ass shit and are just trying to make money and it ruins the scene.

evan, i know you made this in response to my post in the other thread. im not going to the dead simply for drugs.

all i did was ask if anyone knew if any good blotter was going around. Im trying to protect myself from getting ripped off.

i go to the dead for the music and the atmosphere.

from personal experience, theres more assholes just looking to get fucked up at a phish show anyway.

the sophmoric kids arent "dead heads" they actually are "dead heads" because there brains have been friend by trying to get high all the time. The drugs increase the effect. I could easilly sit through a pink floyd or dead concert without drugs. acid and shrooms just give me a better experience.

man your still stuck on the notion that drugs kill brain cells, not all drugs kill brain cells, only inhalants like gas really do damage. Heavy abuse of alcohol can't be too good either. Your right about drugs enhancing the overall experience though.

Persoanlly at fests and shows i try and spread the love, whats mine is your for what i can do. If i paid for something i'll gladly give it to you but reciprication is always appreciated.

I think its the drug dealers and those solely participating in the scene for drugs who ruin it. If making money wanst a big deal and we could just let all enjoy their personal trip the scene would be better. Though what exists is also part of the scene now, after awhile you learn who to avoid and which people are chill to talk to and often times can come out with good friends and the drug dealers push their bunk shit off on the kid who " Oh my god i so want to see the dead, there might be some acid there".

To each his own

Same thing can be said about the electronic scene.

What are you on about! Most of the best musicians in the world were INSPIRED by drugs. Without drugs we'd be missing out on some of the best music ever!!!

The people who make loot has to be the ones with the nitrous tanks.

People follow the train of ballons listening for the hiss... a big tank has to be able to fill thousands of balloons.

I don't think the drugs are a negative part at all, but I think, as most people here have said already, that the scandalous people that go to the shows trying to rip people off are very negative. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to enjoy some good mushrooms at a show however. It's just part of the scene. You don't have to. All scenes have something about them that isn't just music.

Rave scene has drugs
Rock scene has adrenaline pumped retards killing each other in a huge circle stepping on each others faces
Country is just bad
Jam band scenes have drugs
Rap scene has..I don't know? Violence? Lol. I'm being ignorant here
Etc...

i haven't gone to a dead concert ever on any type of drug. yes i've wanted to but i get captured up in the music so crazily that i fucking forget i am sober. i can get all wigged out better then any stoner, its harder physically to get captured in the groove but god its amazing yet.

I hate seeing people who do not fit into the scene of the jam bands pushing their product. I remember at bonnaroo this year seeing some dumb ass ghetto people in their trying to push their pharmies and crappy molly, but you have to turn your head to that crap. I do go to many concerts a little buzzed on booze and a little stoned, but i go for the music. I know a few people who just go to get their drugs, or goes to give them reason to actually do some drugs. I CANT STAND THAT, love the music or dont go!

i wonder if thats why there isnt much cid going around these days...if a kid goes to a show just to find some doses and ends up not finding any or getting bunk shit...chances are he wont try that again. it does seem like it would be an effective method of weeding out those going to a show with the wrong intentions
