It should, especially since the cake shinks a little bit once colonized. yours may be different but the quilted ball jars I have are only quilted on the outside, the inside is smooth.

Going to try wbs for the first time. I think I saw somewhere mushboybsaid he just soaks forn24 hours, no simmer or nothing. Is this a good way to go about it? From whatvin reading simmering can make things slimy as fuck.

Hello everyone, this is agar that is probably too wet. I put ochra spores to it on Saturday in my SAB. Does that look like bacteria or does that look like mycelium?

Looks good. I can't tell but it kind of looks like there might be some ground up Pebbles or something in it which helps with the birds digestion.

If that's the case. I would try to float those out or sift them out or something like that.

They're so small I don't think it would really mess anything up if you didn't.. but it wouldn't hurt.

Other than that. the bag looks perfect.

First time using brown rice and coco coir, wondering on a casing layer. Do I use the coir or vermiculite and how thick should it be (sorry, two questions I guess) :wink:

If this is cubensis, you dont need to bother with it. If you wanna do it anyway though, add enough to cover the myc, or 1/4" if you need a more quantitive amount to eye.

Vermiculite makes more sense to me than coir, but that is backed up by nothing but my gut and should be taken for the opinion that it is.

How do you make small amount of coco coir? I was trying to get 32oz of coir I was going to do 32oz coir 32 oz grade 3 vermiculte 32 oz grain spawn and .4 cup of gypsum. I got a 96oz food storage container im trying to fruit in my jar is 80% done it looks good so far. I think CVG has a better success rate than if I use manure my chance of mold is lower this way.
