Trump is so legitimately brain damaged it can be very hard to tell of he is legitimately spewing mind goop or if he thinks everyone is stupid (as in he was actually fully behind it always, which there is genuine reason to doubt)

My point with the portrayal wasn't really to try and get to the bottom of that but rather just, I think most of us see it here see how pathetic it looks either way in the end. I dont think he's literally a Manchurian candidate puppet so much as foreign interest really hope he's to the US as Gorbachev was to the USSR (which Russia is not shy about at all)

It just doesn't seem like that many people are super stoked about regime change over there. I get that feeling from reading that article. One of the people interviewed even said "Israel and the US want regime change..." And nowhere in their quote did they say that they themselves wanted regime change.

The article gave me the impression that they interviewed a bunch of people who had summer homes in Iran. It reads like a piece someone wrote trying really desperately to manufacture consent.

I'm fine with people that have any perspective on this to link articles about the topic. I'm not trying to only link stuff that supports what I think.

I even made the title of the hyperlink the title of the article.

I’m wondering if Bibi launched Israel’s strikes on Iran without Trump’s approval (which would make sense since they did draw attention away from his glorious military parade), then Trump claimed to be behind them all along (to save face and not look like a fool), and now he is claiming a cease fire when Israel does not actually want that, as revenge against Bibi and to try and re-assert control over how things will unfold.

Just a theory, could be wrong. But there are gaps in this whole thing that need some accounting for.

The problem is that trump lies so much and his sycophants' have proven to do the same trying to please him, he could tell the truth or lie and you will never know.  So if you are in the cult, this does not bother you cause it is a faith thing and if you are not in the cult, you just cannot trust and he has show such a malignant intent and use of lies with power that you just have to lean toward bad reasons over good as a base line and go from there.  Follow the money I guess. Trump is a disease that even if a good thing does happen it is going to go bad.  Sorta like hitler built roads so he could destroy the country with war.

After emerging from his vestibule. The Ayatoallah proceeded to say that nothing happened. Everything's fine.
Then started executing a ton of people. Under the guise of security infiltration. But sounds to me like a dictator, trying to tighten the belt when people were talking about changing up the regime.

Are you surprised? Did you just learn about Iran this week? I didn't see anyone here, except maybe Stable Genius, writing about how great the Iranian government is - they have a theocratic dictatorship, and the people suffer under its rule.

What I did see posted here was criticism against people, like you, who were excited to see foreign bombs used as some pathway to beneficial regime change - who either had no knowledge of the history of US-led regime change, no knowledge of the history of foreign intervention in the Middle East, or were easily influenced by pro-war propaganda - or perhaps some combination of all three.

It's usually how regime's get changed.
This is the typical authoritarian bullshit that's been happening for a long time, but it's never been closer to losing its grip.

Kinda like the Tiananmen Square protest reaction from the government. They only do this when they're threatened.

I never said I was excited about bombs being dropped on the country. That was all your projection. I was excited about the prospect of regime change.
:allsodisappointed:
Pretty disappointing that you continue to try and project what you want to have this conversation be when it isn't.

Show me one post where I say that I support bombing Iran. Or you can stop making false accusations.

I supported the democracy protest in China too.

Didn't know you were such a big supporter of Iran's regime. Wanting that to stay the same is licking a boot.

Licking the boot or pro bombing.  No false accusations.

What is this referring to? Foreign bombs used as some pathway to beneficial regime change; or something else? Can you list a few examples?

"The literal force in charge of crushing their freedoms have been getting missile struck. I can't think of a better opportunity."

You can't think of a better opportunity than foreign missiles striking Iran. Yes, you keep saying that you don't support bombing Iran, but when that is interspersed with you saying that "This is an excellent opportunity" or "This is the best opportunity they've had to overthrow that dictatorship in decades", and the 'opportunity' in question is foreign nations bombing Iran, guess what that means? You support bombing Iran as the pathway to regime change in the country.

I saw the ecstatic pushing for nuclear proliferation.  Literally the most brain dead moronic take in the history of the politics sub, and that's saying something.

Let's not forget this little gem...I can't think of a single good example of a positive regime change coming from outside military action.

Yes, but I was thinking more along the lines of post-WW2 as that was the beginning of modern global political dynamics with the USA as the superpower

Was it an argument that nuclear proliferation is a global net-positive; or an argument that military agression towards non-nuclear nations, like what we saw in Iran, is likely to be a motivating cause for national security through nuclear proliferation?

Which, in your opinion means that will fill in the blanks to make the leap in logic that would twist my words into meaning this.

You support bombing Iran as the pathway to regime change in the country.

So you don't have a quote. You were lying and projecting what you wanted.

I never said that I supported a bombing regime. I said that this is an opportunity. When people leave a jar of cookies on the countertop and you're alone with it. That's an opportunity. Does that mean I support all cookie jars being emptied. Mothers being away from their children? Or is that an opportunity that should be taken?

Your position is nebulous at best.
I've been consistently supporting regime since before I even came to this site.

You just wanna throw rocks. But I don't fit your criteria.

Do you think this opportunity was created in a vacuum?

Typical mob behavior.
Just filling in the blanks for yourselves to get mad at something.
:begone:

Show me the proof that I asked for violence.

Or show me another quote where I think this is an opportunity that should be taken and not ignored. Because that's what this thread is about…
