whos nobody because everybody here has watched YOU piss in every corner of the room demanding serious attention while you wallow in your own crapulence.

and what time? your definition of reality is rather liquid and you fill any shape you want. thats not proving a case or being right about anything. its living in la la land.

You have to wonder how a literal negotiator can't even manipulate some facts into an angle that is more convincing than "Nobody is fucking stupid enough to believe I need to "prove" my case".

I took a few classes from the FBI on interviewing where they taught you methods for investigations. Basically cop bullshit, but as a safety guy for a construction company, accident investigation was pretty common for me. So It helped me weed out the nonsense.

Fool would be the first overconfident bulllshitter to attempt to blow smoke up my ass and get sat in the waiting room until he was ready to say something that aligns with any other version of the story. He'd crack, and then when I did a talk at the University I'd tell students about him and how full of shit some people can be during accident investigations.

It really does make sense though. A negotiation is usually trying to find a happy medium that everyone finds agreeable. I think we'd all love it if we had a president who was savy enough to play 9 trillion d chess and weave us out of a war. But that's not what's happening.

A lawyer actually fights to win an argument. A negotiator doesn't.  This is why sensei-san-fu is terrible at debating facts. In fact his own profession doesn't necessarily have to do with anything factual at all, you just have to be good at tickling people's balls the right way. I think that's also why he keeps trying to convince people he can argue for both sides as well.

I've always been sceptical of the argument that [insert newish media] is going to ruin the kids.

It was made with tv. It was made with vidya games.  I've always felt it was overblown hysterics

However, it is clear at this point that the Internet has broken many folks'' brains and destroyed the ability of said people to think critically.

not me, though, obviously

I think where the internet is uniquely troublesome comes from a combination of ease of publishing, wide availability of information, and anonymity

unlike more traditional media, like television or printed books, there's comparatively little barrier to posting online - which leads to floods of information where at least some part of it is always saying what you want to hear - add on the anonymous posts where bad faith actors can't always be easily identified, and you've got the perfect storm

none of these things are inherently bad - websites like the shroomery and erowid were only able to grow under these conditions, and they were integral to my safe use of drugs when I was younger - but navigating this sea requires strong media literacy and critical thinking which, unfortunately, is not a well taught subject these days

I think some people are just ruthless and care not about truth, justice and the american way.  They have a higher purpose that does not include feed the hungry and cloths the poor but are more like the serial killer that enjoy the pain and perceived power that eases thier powerlessness.  They know they may be caught but the pain and control of others is worth the risk.  This has been true during the ages though maybe the media being what it is has given permission structure for those deviants, allowing the less brave of them to feel not alone in thier fucked-up-edness.  They have a right team to join or club to be a member of.

I can’t waste time here anymore man. Look at this fool.

36 posts per day every day for over a year about how Trump is the epitome of everything wrong in the world, and it only took 48 hours of war propaganda for him to trade in his resist beanie for a MAGA hat.

Fucking pathetic.

Dude they just linked a BBC article.

We just got a great case study on the power of propaganda - and particularly some weird magic spell Trump seems to have for amnesia and wishful thinking - during the US election

You'd be surprised globally at the amount of Muslims who think Trump will magically intervene for palestine and people believing other shockingly fantastical things, it's like it's own little cancer spreading through the human species with furtile breeding ground online to infect from anywhere

Not only that - frankly a lot of people globally don't really give AF that it's Biden or Trump, they see the US, can't really fault them for that...

That is to say US and Israeli intelligence really don't have to do... anything to get some Iranians outside Iran to say "yeah we'd like to see a government that's not the IR"

The reason why I so much oppose current US and Israeli actions is how much I fear it may backfire and totally delegitimize and set back opposition to the IR, ffs they're using monachrist imagery really!? The Islamist narrative writes itself here... I really think bibi and Trump might be playing themselves. If the IR can weather this it may come out stronger... where as before it really was looking quite weak (no lies there, just the US and Israeli pouncing is disgusting nevertheless)

The article is super reaching for people who want regime change too. The one lady was born in Iran and raised in Paris...

It's as if GC just read the headline if the article.

It's directly relevant to the title of the thread. I wanted to link the article.
Why is there so much pushback against people even talking about change?
I made the thread because people would be talking about it. And now I'm getting pushed back against linking articles that are talking about the thread that I made because people are going to be talking about it?

You guys don't need to comment in the thread if you don't want to.

I expect other people to link articles in here as this is further discussed. That's an expectation in the political forum to link articles here.

As has been the expectation in all of the threads in the political forum.
If anyone has an issue with this comment or this thread, please let me know in a PM. We can resolve it. There's a place to discuss the topic at hand. It is not a place to insult people or throw around accusations.

Grow the fuck up everybody.

I think this topic just gets people pissed off.
I think everyone needs to chill the fuck out and read articles and have an issue with the people that wrote those articles.

Not have an issue with somebody who linked the article directly talking about the topic of discussion.
How ignorant is that? Trying to shoot the messenger?

As a bonus. The person who's been causing a lot of friction in this area by providing zero links or articles. Has been banned for 18 days.

So everybody

TBH something feels very off about this all

Like we know the Iranian regime is compromised AF

The great enemy of the west Ayatollah took refuge in the very hostile to the western world order nation France before the shah was replaced, a little side show featuring Oliver North... like we literally got hollywood movies about the justification for this weeks events, and I'm sorry so the US striked facilities - after winking heavily at Iran to move everything - and Iran saved face by striking a base in Qatar that had been evacuated since before all this even happened.

Yeah NGL I'm full on tinfoil hat wondering if something is cooking over at that WEF summit in China. Pay attention to the posturing here - China Russia and rapidly rising afro-populist icon Burkina Faso (the reason is people are laughably gullible to obvious Russian propaganda) are the big loud voices condemning the US here - how loud do they have to shout that they see this big historic change happening while Trump does, if I can try to get this straight:

Does not support Bibi striking Iran

Bibi does it anyway obviously trying to force Trump to do something

Trump gives in

And then immediately backtracks that he doesn't support any of this?

Something's real off

That’s a great post, food for thought.

It’s hard for me to tell when Trump is being deliberate and strategic, versus: ADHD/changing his mind every 5 seconds/trying to convince everyone he is full of surprises and therefore keeping the spotlight of attention on him as much as possible.

Maybe not that hard to tell, actually. I think it’s the latter the vast majority of the time. But I do hear what you’re saying about things smelling fishy. Obviously we are not getting all the facts here
