Sati, the untranslated form of mindfulness, is a feminine word.  And is the mother of all Buddhas. 

In the tibetan tradition this is expressed as Green Tara.

And some Buddhist teachers are quite skilled at using more than one pronoun.  I.e., not defaulting to he simply because male domination is historically reflected in our language.

They're mindful of inclusive language regarding gender, in other words.

That said, other traditions exclude women based on historical by laws to support their own misogyny.  Not everyone in those traditions, but Buddhism certainly has its own issues with patriarchy too.

Kinda hard not to when male domination is the norm and the cultural habit of so many.  Takes mindful intentions and willingness to take an extra half second to add that extra keystroke.

Personally, I find a lot of inspiration from Kwan Yin.  And take her as my patron saint.

I find that more protective than needing a man to protect me.  Protect me from who one might ask?  Men.  It's men I feel I need protection from.  Not all men, but enough that I'm very mindful when I cross paths with one I don't know.

This is how the history of male domination plays out.  Women viewing men as potential threats until they gain our trust.

And personally, if someone can't be bothered to include women in their spiritual teachings, why should I as a discerning woman trust that they have my best interests at heart?

I did find one reference in ACIM to the loving gentleness of a mother singing to her child. But the course is about comprehensive forgiveness, the only judgement, treating anything else as split mind, impossible, illusory.

Thinking about this thread in the context of a fundamental amnesia… the idea of the soul knowing its oneness with the All, and knowing this beyond time, eternally. But then coming into this world, the veil drops, we seem to forget who we are. We mistake who we are with something we are not? Strange

Yes, it’s that. But also more. It’s like a forgetting of some basic quality that exists in the higher realms and not being able to find it on this earthly level. Like, seeing “new colors” and “shapes” that don’t exist on this level.

NDErs describe a feeling of waking up into the “real reality”. This earthly awareness is just an invented period of linear time in a sea of eternity. All is one.

Re-visiting the Seth books…. Opened to this little passage, thought it had some relevance:

I especially like the line about “future neuronal structures.” It is like there is a vast blueprint for our Self, but in this world only a small portion is materialized and manifest.
