Yeah 10 days is nice  I got there with millet this last fall after trying a bunch of different prep for a while and then immediately switched to oats because I’m allergic to success :P got some jars going on 3 weeks and just about finishing up but I want to blame it on the cold, though we will see. Nocd up some bags last night with LC and keeping them downstairs where it’s warmer, hopefully start cutting that time down

See that’s my assumption with them, if they are healthy it’s fine, if they aren’t , it’s also fine. Fail faster

Yeah, I pretty much shake my jars whenever I want to. I think I've only ever had 1 stall out after a shake.

2nd confession: I've been obsessing over clean spawn, but I'm pretty sure the majority of it has been fine. I definitely have a bacterial jar and it's pretty obvious that it's creamy with the outward facing side of the grains uncolonized. I think I just get a little hyperfixated on being uncertain about things. 😬

Arguing about politics with people that largely uninformed is one of the biggest time wasters there is. Very few people have political views that can be changed by arguing and it just causes frustration and hard feelings.

Maybe the biggest negative effect of the Trump era is just the amount of energy around political fighting and finger pointing that he amps up.

It’s the media more than anything. Not Trump or Biden. They gaslight everyone on purpose.

i confess ive fucked with my coir recipe
for literally years.  it was 4.6x brick weight years ago and i dont know how i ever grew shit that way.

then it was 4.5, 4.4, 4.3, 4.25, 4.215, now ive settled at 4.2 and i just
realized this morning the answer was always in front of me.

it was always 42.

Yeah I’ve been playing around with my coir the last few runs. Figuring some shit out. Finding that just because I can do something  one way it isn’t the best way.

I’ve been not only focusing on ratios but also compression rate. I was over compressing my shit and it was slowing down growth and allowing trich get in there sooner than I would prefer. I would lose tubs after the first flush and it was pissing me off.

But I agree 42 is the sweet spot!

Yes, of the users that actually stick around and chose to contribute to this forum daily/weekly, I’d bet money that a majority have ASD (wether diagnosed or not), or other neurodivergencies

Who knows maybe I’m projecting, as I certainly am in that category, but the pattern recognition be recognizing them patterns :P
