Cud

I write with blood
Lost love comes to flood
Here to hurt me and stab me in my heart
But that isn't the worst part
It's when you make my eyes lock in place
My head spins
I am a slave with a sharp point in my face
How. No. Please! a reeling
Not this feeling!
There's mud in my veins stopping up my core
There's sud in my sclera-
Very worn and wary is what I mean
Why do I want more?
With stupid desire, the ire; it poisons me
And it taunts me
You haunt me
Fill me with fire for false hope
And rape my mind in short time
Climbing and climbing but really
Dropping down, sinking, drooping, looping, needing, feeding
Leading me
Bleeding me dry
This is why I cannot cope or cry
But rather lie
At the end of the line

i wrote it 9 months ago on here. There's an argument to be made from this that Love is not a good idea. Good luck!

I think it's better as an example of graphology, really, how handwriting relates to feelings, in this case, remnants of heartbreak even years after.

untitled addendum

lying at the end of the line, to lie:
That I don't wish to still be with,
That I don't still love
Into two pieces, and more, but dual ones
how could you sleep if there were two Suns?
what one will wishfully win in what dreams keep awake with a whirring blurring blinking
vision forms shapes outside to make sense but never sees the solution
lucky who've never known love but above it is only diminution

watch my single handed dexterity easily disable like latrodectus, but no sacrifice, only my fiery bezier
gay I may vex you--my transpiring vector
fool, I'm verily Venetian, Lucretian; a voluble sum full,
delicatus of Diocletian, behold when I reference a Grecian
all breathing human passion above,

I eschew such a showy view, but prefer past participles:

Lapis

Glistening stars sometimes silently meander
shimmering and twisting thither of throngs and thrones
and stone minds, extracted from dark places
to sit faceted around gold veins
and purple sockets beneath what might be blue,
forsooth with other porphyrous influorescences of various proportions.
A Vesper's luminol is satisfying and soft to diffuse in an Iris.
Suppose I could drink it and demonstrate lucidly those shapes on the surface of Lazuli I see lying sapidly in your eyes!
Rivers flowing following curvatures and contours of crevices too small for sapience, but for saphaneia...
"voice cracking, thin flames beneath skin, seeing nothing, ears ringing,"
a poignant pigment proliferating personifications presents a palacial portent portraying an Egyptian scarab,
speckled like lovers' lenses:
circumscribed symbols surface supplanting solitary existence;
so is philosophy sophisticated and instantiated,
save for surplus desire,
soon to inquire conclusively.
Its answer must reside elusively;
its sulfur lends to its splendor.
Inspected under microscopic magnification a crystalline structure speaks a resemblance to a sylvan salvation,
a calcite curtain,
an aureate aurora among an astral azure,
especially propitious as of a metamorphosis,
say, of Publius Ovidius.
Invidious are those whom seek it to control or enclose, because in their imposal they stumble upon Plato's
atrabilious sensorium, only a partial plenitude,
howsoever latitudinous.
Assiduously apropos of prolepsis, aisthesis, and sublunary enargeia,
instantaneous as perception,
with circumspect comprehension,
impressions solidly signify, suggest and facilitate,
albeit within transitory tracks,
as solvents;
salutations of the inimitably inutterable.

The Ghost in me.

When the ghost in me wakes up,
usually at night, when all souls are asleep,
It grabs my insides, stripping me of my faith,
The ghost in me always comes back.

A dissident melody, sweet to the ears of none,
My voice fades to silence, I am speechless now.
It arrives that I'm pulled out of my slumber,
Short-breathed, coughing from suffocation.

And as my senses slowly come back to me,
I see them staring deeply into me,
A pair of yellow glowing eyes in the dark.

The ghost in me also sings,
And when he speaks, he speaks through me,
I've learned to answer it's prayers,
Elevating not one, but all of my brethren,
To the paradise once promised to us.

The links are forever forged.
I can no longer cut them off.
I am done here anyway.
My God's will becomes me.

The Ghost in me.

friENDS

Our friendship blossomed and it was so strong ,
we both knew tho, it wouldn’t last too long.
Emotions burned with fervent heat, our destiny shared we were bound to meet.
Company had with no compare, it seemed like love was in the air.
Yet our rapport waned with the moon,
A lust filled zeal it would deplume.
Infatuation that was one sided,
Innocently, so misguided.
A veil of illusion caught in the wind,
On that fateful night we both had sinned.
Consequence bared none could halter,
‘‘Twas to late, we couldn’t alter.
Confusion wrought from emotions gleaned,
Without meaning an arrant fiend.
The destroyer of friendship so dear,
It had come to pass what I did fear.
Kinship at end, a journey complete,
A stark reminder of my defeat.
Now equidistant between love and hate,
We were doomed to fail, it was our fate.

-L. Phosphorus

20 letter title, means 7 from fifty, or 43, for 43 letters, and 20 syllables in the poem

septemdequinquaginta
ubi unum conculcetur ibi onus ferreum isto imponet

written september 12, 2024

google t has it as

"where one is trodden down, there he will lay an iron burden on that one"

Where one may be downtrodden, there, in that, one will lay a cold load of iron

I must say L. did a little trick and went from a passive subjunctive downtrodden to a predicated active indicative imponet, to place, to lay in, over, upon, which is also to say the ferreum is dragging it down, the heavy weight. The weight pulled passivity into activity. There is the coldness. Ferreum is an adjective in the accusative. It means like iron, also can mean cruel, hard, firm, rigid, immoveable. the onus, the burden, is itself heavier because of the iron, because it frigifies, and makes the world more tougher, harder... Any cruelty inflicting upon a passivity renders the passivity an activity, which is the experience of the only option, which is some form of resistance. The passive subjunctive, while fundamentally uncertain, becomes an indicative certainty in activity, which would have been, in the old days, the people cursing whoever just came through with an entourage and had someone undeserving covered in mud from horses, and or trampled. This facilitates an active resentment from a passive reception of suppression from an authority. How can a passive uncertainty create an active certainty? by being pulled by resistance. That resistance may be diverted or however, but it will still remain, only to, perhaps build up.

You can get whatever meaning you want from his poem. All meanings matter, although some may be more ad rem.

it also means 'the onus, the burden, which was in this case trampled, imposes the iron-clad' , as in swords, chains, shackles. L. Phosphorus says they can only be melted down.

i asked my husband what he thinks about L.'s meaning behind "onus ferreus" , iron burden. He said. "I am God." He said it was like Atlas.

Quote:
Valerius Flaccus, Argonautica 5. 408 ff :
"[Depicted on the walls of the palace of Aeetes :] There iron Atlas stands in Oceanus, the wave swelling and breaking on his knees; but the god himself [Helios the Sun] on high hurries his shining steeds across the old man's body, and spreads light about the curving sky; behind with smaller wheel follows his sister [Selene the Moon] and the crowded Pleiades and the fires whose tresses are wet with dripping rain [the Hyades]."

how wld the currency flow?
if language cld speak
wld it tells what it know?

my words were abused
in the language you knew
children in letters
the message they renew

time tocks to my rhyme
enunciating in a flash
sound emits radiation
within which abusing humanity won’t last

tip, tap, clap, tap dancer
they tick in this time
their shape, their number
ordered in kind, 'round the line

time is not your whore
go make some of your own
this dirt, this earth
who hijacks what is authentically grown?

letters you thought
you cld quantum entangle and dance
a book with no thought
contains no chance

with no knowledge of true language
letters bent from shape
unable to bear
the truth you wont escape

with no count to zero
your game is zero sum

stolen ppl, they run!

go make your own language
to coherently speak
these final words
have radiated their peace

Time has come
song has been sung

when one dodges a bullet.

meaning a woman that appears as such
yet is just nothing much

a heart set on a outward appeal
then the garbage of the fake zeal

What a fake how dumb I am
glad i got to see it, as I am a man.

Shit still hurts though.  Drinking my way through it and with each one, feel better than the slime.

Someone wrote, women are evil
wasn't just spiel

Never saw someone that could appear so authentic yet so fake
Glad I saw it before I made a mistake

Fucking sociopaths.  They take pride in it.

i have a dont tread on me sticker on the back of my car

so morons will think whatever

they want other than what I want them to,

maybe that i am a red neck, or dumb,

and leave us alone,

we're gay. You'd be surprised how many guys

pull by and give me the thumbs up.

i shoot them the two finger salute

Good thing to know if you drive through

slap one of those on the back and youre one of them.

you think hearts are for breaking
so i won't share my heart with you
you think love is for the taking
so i've constructed a billion walls btwn me and you

the distance is real,
the separation is tangible,
i'll remain unrecongnizable for eternity

it's impossible to love
what you don't know
i've shared and showed
and you still fail to know

you'll never find me,
what's lost to you,
is found to me

an eternity without love.

royal diamond

Who thinks hearts are for breaking
and not for playing?
a flopped full house beats two aces
but a flush at the river
washes their faces
So what if one doesn't figure hearts for
feigning but rather framing?
beside those who don't have it,
what walls ward what can't be separated?
just like a player's eyes
immiserated when four fours are laid
whether it is possible at first sight,
or is mutual fright has been
an eternal affair
it's your choice to bluff and raise
or double down on that pair

This is as good as it gets how I see it

each line is written in the classic pagan style, in the square capital style
two sets of four lines, premises of a maxim at the end

64 syllables, 128 characters, 8 letter title, 8 lines, 8 syllables per line, 16 characters per line

There is something else in there I wonder if you can spot.

If you have wondered what this poem means, it does have a sexual meaning but that is really tertiary or quaternary. It means That if you even have as an idea 'most profound and expansive truths' then you must have loved whatever that means because only through loving something can the most profound and expansive things or thing about it be seen in the first place, so therefore it is necessary (sic ideo necesse est), that the greatest thing itself, if it exists, be loved. With that said, a potion of thirst quenches us, we know it well, when it fills us 'to this point'. This is a play on words because philosophy is the potion of thirst that quenches (id nos explet), (cum alto hic movet imus) when the deepest moves here with the highest: res maxima omnis amor, love is the greatest thing of all.

You could conceivably write the poem to be a perfect square, and then it would actually be perfect.

It is literally perfect.

Powerful sentiments and interesting formal qualities. Not sure I share the wow factor for the latter but it might be due to not relating the content to the form or grasping some numeric significance. Restrictive artifice such as repeating pattern and symmetry have an unnaturalness which for me the best poetry possibly tempers a little. Then again  the total rejection of form by alot of free verse seems also formulaic. Nice lifestyle balance that finds intruige in both mathematic and sexual pleasure...
