If that size of a gap doesn't allow enough Fae how come just a few small little holes around the walls above the sub does? It would seem like the holes would allow less Fae compared to a bigger Gap in the lid? Can someone please help clear this up a little bit for me?

I'm definitely not doubting or questioning anybody cuz I know nothing when it comes to this stuff. Just want to make sure my mushies are better in the future. So I am looking into modding my boxes unless it's not necessary..

I guess I'm looking for opinions on what's better?

should I go mod or unmod and does it make a difference whether it's a cracked lid or proper drilled holes?

Modified Tubs work by convection currents moving the air inside.
So it might be hindered by cracking the lid with modified (maybe).

A 1/4inch hole is pretty big actually.

However you shouldn't need to crack the lid with modified. The pasty ezdial are just for his environment everyone needs to DIAL IN according to their own environment.

You may need more holes. And it's better have have more than not enough, and MP tape over them to adjust.

If caps are becoming necrotic it's a bacterial infection, & yes its exasperated by excess moisture.
I'll also add, that the size and stature could very well be genetics as well as available h20 within the sub.
Also it's why running proven clones is the name of the game.

I don't think it's genetics on this one I think it's all of the other environmental issues including contamination. Let me show you a pic of the exact same genetic coming out of LC








As you can see they are extremely different. This is what made me ask the question after seeing the Drastic difference between the two grows coming out of the same lc. However I am inexperienced. Is it possible for that to happen from LC like it would from mss? I know from MSS you never know what you're going to get out of it. Does this still apply with lc?

Hypothetical situation:

you dry a 50g wet shroom for 12 hours at 160f and it gets down to 5.5g dry. Store in glass jar with desiccant.

Then 2 weeks later you put it back in the dehydrator for another 12 hours and it now weighs 5g.

What has happened to the potency in those two weeks? Is the loss negligible?
