Disorganized Growth generally is another type of mold. Cubensis mycelium is usually very uniform unless there is a contaminant riding along, bacterial or fungal.

Wispy, tomentose growth doesn’t always signify a contaminant and could very well be due to agar recipe and the amount of readily accessible nutrients.

Lower your nutrient content in order to force a different morphology. Lower nutrient content  in your agar will usually look more rhizo as the organism/mycelium is searching for the food in order to sustain itself and colonize more rapidly in order to consume and complete its life cycle.

Here are some pictures to compare and begin to better train your eyes for what to look for:

I do the usual 10/10/1 to 500ml filtered water recipe for my agar. Instead of the 10g of LME how much should i cut it down to for it to "reach out" for growth?

I like to do 10g/6g/500ml. Distilled water. Thoroughly mixed and allowed to melt down into a homogenous mixture before loading into the media bottle.

The jar is pulling air in as the internal temp cools. It’s whistling. Why didn’t you let the PC cool with the jars inside? You can break jars that are that hot putting them on a cool surface due to thermal shock.

There was a guy on Survivor once who said he knew how to start a fire.

So he doused a bunch of kindling in cologne.

Then he got directly above it and started the fire.
The fumes that came off of it instantly hit his face and he passed out.
Directly into the fire.
Now what was supposed to happen was that people wouls pull him out of that fire & throw him onto the beach.

They threw him into the cold ocean.
The cooked meat just fell off.
He immediately needed to be airlifted out.

Sorry to traumatize y’all. But that is what the previous comment made me think of.
Be very careful introducing very hot and cold things together. They will explode.

I didn't know it would be an issue. I put it on a cork pad, so thermal shock isn't an issue. Should I PC it again?

If you finished pressure cooking and it’s cooled. There is no issue.
Next time, just let them cool inside of the pressure cooker.

Ah. I thought air getting sucked in might suck in contamination with it. But maybe not because the lid is tightened and particles can't get through?

Oh, you’re worried about the vacuum.
I have had this issue also.
Open those inside of a still air box or in front of a FFU and you shouldn’t have an issue.

Well, I let it cool on the counter with the lid tightened and the foil still on. So do I have to sterilize it again?

No, it is sterilized.
There’s a vacuum in the jar. Until you break that vacuum, I consider it sterilized. Just make sure that when you break that vacuum you are in a place where that rush of air can’t bring contamination.

Got my PF cakes in a closed unmodified water chamber. Is it normal for them to dry out every couple hours?

Coir works pretty well, tbh, but (and I'm only commenting on what I can see here...) Fyi: the more densely packed your fruiting chamber is, the better your surface conditions will be. For instance: shoving six cakes in a 56qt water tub is gonna be rough sailing...  Also try getting them closer to the water (again... I could be seeing the water level wrong here - so take that with a grain of salt).

Is my rye fucked? I soaked it in 90C water for 30 minutes. A lot of burst grains, but also some that are still a little opaque in the center.

As long as they’re dry to touch before pc’ing you should be golden, I used to boil my rye for 45mins before straining but I’ve since found out that brand was larger than average.

The PF tek guide has instructions for both and I had a bunch of prepped coir so I just used that. And they have no FAE (although I suspect the tub they’re in isn’t airtight).

Damn it’s actually only 4 cakes in a 56qt hah. I meant to have 6 muda jars in there too but they’re all bacterial  If I can find a smaller container today i’ll definitely  transplant the little dudes so they can be cozier
