Even well stabilized cultures can toss reverts. Remember ALL the APE lineage are just stabilized mutants of a brown cube.


Thats what im thinking is this is reverted back.

Does that mean its nothing like p.e. ? or can it still contain some traits?

The inner pith of the mushrooms are similar to ape, Im wondering if it may still be more potent like a p.e. variety. Only 1 way to find out i guess.

I think the coir was a little dry from the beginning but it had some condensation on the lids and I almost didn't fan these at all.

you dont ever want to fan. mist on an as needed basis. if the field capacity of your coir is off it will lead to insufficient RH and your tubs stalling out.

It looks like yeast to me. Probably dropped from your hand or an unsterile part of a tool when you had the plate open. That near the edge, could also be have come through the gap of the lid if there was a strong current before you sealed the dish. Or maybe you scraped the lid over the rim when replacing it?
