So I was thinking about making up some Potato Dextrose Agar and I was looking at the recipe. The Recipe calls for about 500ML of boiled potato broth, Dextrose or corn syrup and then it calles for "Agar Agar"??? so someone please fill me in. What is the 3rd ingredient? All this "agar" talk gets me confused

Agar Agar is powder created from seaweed that is the actual "gelling agent" of the mixture (Potatoe Dextrose AGAR). It's used in the mixture so it will form a gel at room temperature after the warm mixture is poured into the petri dishes.

We have bacteriological grade Agar Agar available, along with all the other incrdients you may need (including PRE-Mixed PDA powder) at Sporeworks.
