And there’s that bizarre argument. Rarity isn’t an excuse for allowance. And no, puberty blockers aren’t reversible. Where did you learn that? Being on puberty blockers for years has permanent consequences.

Also your last statement actually supports my position. The people who are doing these medical procedures on kids are doing it “for their own good,” when very clearly that is not the case.

The rarity of a horrible thing shouldn’t dictate whether or not it should be allowed to occur. Weird stance.

Ohhhhh no sorry miscommunication. No, I don’t know any in person. I mentioned earlier these are first hand sources, ie interviews with these people.

Should it be left up to kids whether they:
use cigarettes?
drink alcohol?
get tattoos?
vote?
join the military?
drive cars at any age?
quit school and get a job?
own a gun?

These things aren't equivalent to the issue being discussed.

“It's interesting that you people think one can be groomed into a different sexual identity. Sounds like you think gender is fluid ”

Equivalent? No
Relevant? Absolutely
You already know that my point is that we don’t allow undeveloped minds to take on serious life altering decisions until they’re older yet you and other like minded idiots will pretend that isn’t the point in order to maintain feeling good about keeping your head in the sand

Kids are, by nature, easily influenced. To recognize that fact doesn’t mean I believe there is such a thing as being gender fluid

Pretty much all kids and many adults these days lack the mental acuity to think for themselves and have been pushed into some real bullshit ways of thinking in the name of “being sensitive”

Literally every reputable medical source. Blockers have been used for precocious puberty for decades.

Your argument is circular, and assumes any sort of transition is necessarily bad, because it's horrible.

It is very clearly the case that- sometimes folks transition and are perfectly happy, and sometimes they aren't.
Gender Affirming care (for their own good) became the norm, because that's what the stats showed led to more positive outcomes.

Bottom line: Stop trying to force your way into the doctors office to make decisions for other people's kids, it's weird. Mind your own business, it's very easy I promise.

You do realize that right-wing christian nuts LOVE to create propaganda about this issue?

Maybe try talking to a real trans person sometime. Or just don't believe everything you see on the internet.

Of course, but these are literally people who were groomed as children and given surgery and drugs, then quit once they were adults. They talk about how they were convinced into these positions by adults and how much pain and regret they have. It’s the single most valid source you can have on the issue, I’d think.

Maybe you disagree and that’s fine, but hearing these stories straight from victim’s mouths is enough for me.

Idk what you’re referencing, but I’ve seen probably half a dozen interviews

And I have trans friends lol. I’m in Austin. I have no issue with trans adults at all. They largely dont support this either 🤷‍♂️

You believe that there are two genders and that they are set. One is right and the other is wrong for each individual. That they are fundamental and immutable. But also that they can be changed though suggestion. Seems inconsistent

It isn't clear to me that my stance is based on emotion. You on the other hand...
Lynch mentioned earlier about the save the children appeal to emotion. I've noticed you are pretty touchy on the subject of children in various posts. You've got children probably. It makes you easy to manipulate

You saw six people talk about it and formed an opinion. (More like had your preexisting opinion validated) I know two who have transitioned and don't regret it. Doesn't that make you like one-thirds wrong? I mean it almost sounds like a joke. "I watched a six person interview. That is enough for me"

I just wanna say it’s very hard to have this conversation when the opposite viewpoint won’t stop putting words in your mouth. You guys have to make an awful lot of assumptions about the media I consume and the company I keep to make me this person in your head, someone I most assuredly am not.

If you want to talk to me specifically about it, you’ve gotta keep it on topic. Obviously I’m not here to police your speech to other people; say whatever you want.

But this talk of right wing, left wing, Christian, blah blah blah doesn’t involve me. I won’t be baited.

What's being done to kids? Any sort of surgery you want to criminalize is so vanishingly rare as to be non-existent. Some teens get put on puberty blockers. Big whoop, they're reversible.

What I don't understand is why anyone thinks it's their business. This is between the kid, their parents, and their doctor. Worry about your own kids.

Everyone on this site should understand that SAVE THE CHILDREN, is rarely about the children, but a scare tactic designed to criminalize and control us all.

Man, why are you people so weird with such terrible logic? Internet made it too easy for people to spout off awful opinions formed on 0 actual knowledge base. How are you so confident on shit with no information? Are you all just projecting on how you get manipulated by media? Puberty blockers are absolutely not "reversible" either.

They totally do lol. There were over 200k surgeries performed on ages 13-19 in 2020

https://www.webmd.com/teens/teens-plastic-surgery

This older stat states about 200k on under 18s in 2005 so it's reasonable to assume that no where near all these kids were 19.

https://journalofethics.ama-assn.org/article/teenagers-and-cosmetic-surgery/2005-03

Not trying to justify it, just saying that cosmetic surgery for teenagers is a very normalized and accepted thing, has been for a while, and still is. In fact, they think social media is making it much worse, too. And we're talking cosmetic surgeries like breast implants and stuff, there's a separate stat for non-invasive procedures like fillers/injections.</font></font>

No, they don't.

Some plastic surgery procedures, like breast enlargement, liposuction, and cheek implants are generally considered inappropriate for teens, except in unusual cases. But other procedures may be beneficial.

They're not giving BBLs to 15 year olds. And we would all find that deplorable anyway, which is the point.

No that’s only if you entirely misunderstand the situation.

The trans people you know don’t negate the grooming of children. It’s such a bizarre way of looking at things.

“I know people who had fulfilling consensual sex, so rape isn’t an issue.”

Yes, transitioning works for some people. No, that doesn’t mean children who are gay and autistic should be groomed into becoming trans by doctors, teachers, and parents.

These two things are unrelated to me.
