I’m fairly certain people don’t do no pours with glass petris. You need an autoclavable material can be sealed, like half pint mason jar or the holy grail plates.

Ha fuck, now it's clear why it seemed fucked up.
Thank you.

Thank you sir, I will try this out.

Is it still recommended to let them sit for a week before doing transfers or inoculating?

Or can I start immediately after they cooled?

If you have lots of spores and dishes you could streak a couple then leave the rest wrapped to sit and see. I did this to 10 glass dishes and none of them had contams. The chance of a contam going around multiple layers of tinfoil, then up under a glass lid, over the lip of the bottom dish, and into the agar is slim to none.

Ah fuck, this seems like a good way to proceed. Thank you. I found DERRAYLD posts on this in the meantime.

Can someone tell me how no pour glass Petris are different than plastic Petri no pours?? I just wrap em once in foil…open em open air and have no issues once placed into SAB for use?

If you transfer a plate pin with the mycelium and agar underneath it and stand it up in a new plate so the flesh isn’t touching agar will it continue to grow the same fruit? Or will the fruit still revert back to mycelium.

Well you'll get mycelium from beneath it growing too, which could be other genetics.

Thanks! Yeah that’s exactly how I do mine now because my pours had a decent amount of contam after a week on a few of them. No contams now with my no pour

Right, but unlike transferring a tree with rootball, the organism switches from fruiting, to eating, and I want to know what would happen to the fruit. Would it just abort? Would it stall for a while then grow again? Or would it get all white and fuzzy. I’m asking for a friend who didn’t understand how cloning works lol.

Some noob agar questions (first time w/ agar)...looking to pour some agar into a sleeve of 20 dishes this weekend (that's all the petri dishes I currently have).  Thinking of inoculating 6 to 8 of them within 24 to 36 hours after that.  Maybe do 3 or 4 with a MSS from a vendor (APE or TidalWave) and another 3 or 4 with a dry B+ spore print I obtained from my first successful grow a few weeks ago.  (1st grow had B+ and PE cakes...I've been harvesting the PEs, but haven't taken any clones from them--they're on their way out so not sure if something viable will fruit within the next week (birthed ~ 6 weeks ago)).  So some dishes will just have agar to begin with which will allow me to wait and see, and then be available for transfers.
Does this approach make sense for a sleeve of 20?  And, can all be stored at room temperature for the next few weeks while waiting for streaked plates to grow myc?

Thanks Again (read more than I post, but just want to give a pat on the back to all the contributors, trusted cultivators, and the savvy site itself)

For everyone concerned about storing sterile plates that have not been used.  If they go bad on your shelf empty, they will certainly go bad once opened, a sample dropped on, and incubated.  If you are concerned about things like sterilized plates and grain jars sitting put, then you are not confident in your prep procedures.

Still can’t believe this. My friend had a yeti plate that he kept on top of his fridge for over 8 months. It was dried and shriveled with one single pin on it . I took it home and transferred it did two transfers and here we are.

DERRAYLD has a write up for no pours in glass dishes. I did it once. Pour em, let them solidify, then thoroughly wrap the stacks in multiple layers of tinfoil, PC, once cooled completely remove from pc and goto ur flow or sab and get them surand or filmed

I do no pour with PP5 petris(like actual petris), wrap them in one layer of foil, let them cool in the PC, pull the foil off in open air and let them sit unwrapped in my drawer.

Culture drawer, the plates in the back are waiting to be used. The three stacks on the right have been in there unwrapped since Feb 24

Damn those are nice yeti plates. Mine are always EXTREMELY tomentose. I'll have to find a picture later. I've never had anything else grow out like they do.
