Diamonds are still cool, but the over-inflation of price I feel will soon come crashing down- Also- MOISSANITE!!
    #27738170 -

The diamond market has long been over inflated and controlled mostly by a group of monopolistic buyers/sellers. But now they are making diamonds in the lab. And the technology is getting better.

AND! There's also something called MOISSANITE that's even easier to make than lab created diamonds.

Check out this chart!

MORE LUSTER AND REFRACTION THAN EVEN DIAMONDS! :mindblown:

The only difference is .75 hardness, which seems OK.

So I've purchased a 3.04 Ct  Moissanite from Ebay for relatively cheap($20) and I can't wait to check it out. I've never been able to own a big Diamond financially, so this will be my "diamond"

Also, one thing to note, is that Moissanite is not a lab created diamond.

Lab created diamonds have an actual hardness of 10( like Diamonds from the earth)

Also, "lab created" diamonds ARE NOT FAKE! They are REAL DIAMONDS! The only difference is the source.

Anyways, just thought I'd post this for fun. I could have taken that $20 and bought some silver, but I wanted me a little gem. Will post pics when it arrives.

IF you own a bunch of diamonds, now would be a good time to start moving away from that market. EVEN THOUGH THE DIAMOND MARKET IS STILL HOLDING! I think it's a bubble that's gonna pop... and hard.

We shall see. Happy Geology! Happy Easter!

And SHINE ON!:heart::sun:

Are YOU going to get a Moissanite? What do y'all think about my purchase? Or anything on the subject?

Moissanite is cool. I've heard alot of jewelry hailing about alexandrite.

The problem with jewels and jewelry it's ALL prestige pricing.

A rough stone is priced probably to the 1/100th for third world miners, probably where your moissanite came from, a good chance a child duh it out of a mile deep hole full of shit and blood, watched several people get crushed in front of him, to get out and get given about a single dollar or two before he gives the rough gem, probably 1.5x the size of what you hold in your hand before it's worked down, unless you got a rouch piece. If it's faceted or a cabochon, it was probably 1.5x the size at least.
So he gets 2 dollars say, shipping cost all around probably take up say another 10%, 2$, so now there's 80% in value that is probably getting taken up by the retailer or the jeweler, now weather it is made into a piece of jewelry rough or if it's cut and shaped are huge considerations in jewelry, because of prestige pricing, same with retail, who is this person selling your rock or your metals? Do they work with other prestigious companies? You will not only pay more for someone's high end work, you will also pay more simply for paying more.
Especially with jewelry, people will spend more on something that's not worth it simply because that's what they planned on spending, and that's what they wanted, not knowing even slightly what the stones and metals are actually worth.

So what I'm tell you, is that to compare any stone really, to diamonds, or to even use the diamond jewelry, or even just conventional jewelry model as a reference, is just a bad idea. Diamonds are on their way out of fashion at least, they will always be prestigious and maybe even more so in the future. And that's what it's all about.

It is cool they are the hardest rock, made out of pure carbon, the means of our existence, and yes they are sparkly, but I've said this before, it's probably not that rare, sure hard to obtain, and there are grades to all stones, but I would say their is probably less grade A fire opal than grade A diamond.

I'm an opal guy. Rainbow stones. Water rocks. Very fragile delicate and beautiful stones. My wife's wedding ring is opal even, and because of that she has to be careful when she wears it, which isn't very often as we are farmers. Often opals are mined in much more appropriate settings, at least Australian opal as well.

So really fiery, I suggest if you care about rocks, you should care most about where they came from rather than how they look. As they might hold more energy from being exposed to whatever prior, than whatever energy you put into them after the fact.

The diamond industry won't pop, they will get more valuable. But most people don't even realize they aren't wearing real diamonds.
There was this YouTube video where some kid took a diamond checker to school and pissed off his teachers.
But not only that, people will realize the blood that goes into those rocks and realize they're wearing murder on their finger. Giving murder as a gift.

I mean really nothing's worth more than the value we give it right?

Oh wow.. No... You missed the part about how Moissanite being made in a laboratory. It's a real gemstone, just like out of the earth, but without all the blood and shit on it.

I'm a huge opal fan myself and have a few small lower grade ones. I also have a very nice collection of Fluorite mineral samples and quartz crystals too.

Also a nice little collection of Azurite, Malachite, Labradorite, Selenite, Tourmaline, and Prehnite ..lol OK I'm a geology geek

I agree, and also think that rocks can be cleansed of past energy through a variety of metaphysical means.

I don't believe in "haunted gemstones" or "cursed stones" unless they just have not be properly metaphysically cleansed yet.

It's not just made in a lab.

It says lab created on the listing tho I assume.?

Nice! I love tourmaline, sunstones, submarine, kyanite, quartz, me as well, love alot of stones.

And the only problem for me with lab created stones is I don't feel like they hold ANY energy of the earth.

I agree with the cleansing too. But sometimes shit can be so engraved into something, imo, it's almost better to destroy it, or bury it forever, or give it to someone who isn't aware or may be less likely to be effected because of their non knowing even. I could go into that all-day also

I'm glad you share my fondness of moissanite.

In 2018 my Spirit Guide has this to say about Moissanite:

Here is a comparison that does justice to both diamonds and moissanites:

Interestingly, moissanite occurs as a mineral on earth and in space, though on earth extremely rarely.

Oh my bad. Thanks for the education. Yes, this one is lab made.

Ohh! I have some cool kyanites too.

Also, I have tons of Black Tourmaline( Schorl) a decent bit of red tourmaline, a very tiny bit of Blue tourmaline, and a few chunks of yellow tourmaline. All non gem grade geological specimens.

I might open up a rock shop some day. I also have a place around here where I dig my own quartz crystals and have about a dozen cardboard flats full

Not bragging lol geology is just my thing.

I don't have ANY sunstones though! That's awesome.

If you want to trade a sunstone sometime I'm game, might even have lower grade rough I could get you from here in Oregon with some copper inclusions.
I like blue tourmaline also.

One of the largest obsidian deposits in the country is just 4 hours away in eastern Oregon, it's insane, it just flows like rivers there, everywhere. And the energy at that place is insane, you can feel how important that place was. It's called glass butte obsidian deposits.

You find some big quartz? I've never hunted anything but agates, obsidian and petrified wood.

I like that image of the mosanait Asante.

Nononono!

Get them straight from china, MUCH cheaper.

Moissanite still suffers a scandalous markup where some companies ask 10-20x as much as others do for the same quality moissanite.

Oh wow! I've read all about Glass Butte, AND how people end up there stranded because their tires get slashed because the back roads have obsidian in the gravel! I'm a member of some Pacific NW online groups and people say they take 4 spare tires or more when they go hunt obsidian there. I would love to go out there!

I love obsidian and it's EVERYWHERE OUT THERE! By the TONS!

I've actually been to the coast of Oregon and found some cool Concretions there if you've ever heard of them, some of them with Chrinoid fossils, and some I have yet to break open .

As far a s"big" quartz, not really, but some unique formations like Skeletal Elestial and Iron and Hemeatite stained quartz! I'm in the Southeast USA BTW... tons of quartz mines around here.

Duuuuuudddeeee! Thanks for that reference.

I will totally be checking them out because it DOES look like I can order from there!

Never even heard of them. Wow.

I'll still use EBay even though I think some of their policies are terrible, but as a buyer it's cool when I can "snipe" an auction in the last minute and get a $200 rock for $20

And if you really spend a lot of time on ebay, some sellers mis label what they have to the advantage of the buyer. . For instance the mislabeling of Celestite as "blue stone" or Kyanite as "blue rock" and then the price never gets bid up because it doesn't pop up on search engines. I scored an amazing 12 pound Celestite Geode for $50 like that. I don't feel like I'm taking advantage either because it IS a blue rock lol.

I'm so excited about my Moissanite though! I was led to it and it called to me and I ordered some and the rest will soon be history. Can't wait to get it, cleanse it, and start using it spiritually!@

I totally will. I lived in Astoria ORegon for 6 months and I absolutely loved it there! AMAZING BEACHES! And Rivers, and Scenery wow. I want to come back and visit would totally meet up we could hunt some Agates...

What major city are you near?

Also, I did know about synthetic opal. There's a few different types .. Also the heat treating of Opal as well.

I know Oregon has this stuff called "massive opal" or something like that. It's not gen grade but it's still Opal for metaphysical reasons!

one of the first hits on "moissanite stone"

here is a "comparable" 2ct Moissanite bought in America:
(I think the Chinese one is clearer and better cut)

SEE THAT PRICE DIFFERENCE?!  :woah:

How is that remotely justifiable? They probably buy them in China also.

Ya Oregon has opal, Nevada too even, fire is very rare. And ya you can heat treat for fire. They've closed the mines to the public around here tho sadly, but you can get bulk through retailers and break it and sort it and stuff.

And to be honest I've never been a huge fan of clear stone refraction or whatever it's called. Just not a fan of the faceted of end rainbow spots. I like how opal flows and has a body to the color, even when faceted.
Even labradorite or moonstone I like the colors more than clear faceted light refraction. Just seems distorted to me.

I do like planes in quartz that catch colors and stuff like that. Idk I think if anything stuff like diamonds and even mossainite or even zirconium, it just looks prestigious, and because of that I'm not super into it.

But I appreciate the symbology, cuts, craftsmanship and intentions usually behind things like mossainite

That's a nice ruby!

I actually took some pics of a few of my opals with some dreams.

In my DMT for IandI sig link also
