Actually yeah...Penticton and Osoyoo's are absolutely beautiful, and fit alot of your criteria, very happy communities, Penticton is absolutely amazing in the summer, the whole area is basically all orchards, lots of activity, nice skiing, awesome biking and running, triathalons, Lots of community based business's (ie. not mega franchises) and what not. However, when i think of the South okanagan (used to be a resident of Oliver) i think conservative. The population is greatly aging and politically...are very conservative bunch.
Lots of indoor marijuana Op's though, its a big "problem" down there.

Heramin Park just out of Denver in the hills. It also goes by the name of Heroin Park. Legend tells of ragers where anything can be found.

Well I'm out in Richmond, like 10 minutes away from Vancouver and it's pretty cool here. Although the scenery in Richmond specifically ain't great, but Vancouver is beautiful, it's a great spot to be. But a lotta ppl.
