There was never anything resembling a smoking gun on Russia. The thing back then with Ukraine was clearly improper. I don't know if it was exactly impeachment worthy. The Senate vote to remove him went completely on party lines except for Romney. Trump did admire Putin right up until just now when he realized how far he had drifted from public opinion saying how smart Putin was with the invasion. That will be used against him if he runs.

Trump's financial dealings with Russia are another matter. When all the U.S. banks stopped loaning him money he went to Deutsche Bank and when they quit loaning him money he went to Russian billionaires. They are almost certainly laundering illegal money through him, but that probably doesn't make him complicit. It just looks bad, and getting worse with the war.
