barack obama made an interesting point when he called hillary and mcclone on their "gas tax holiday" crap ..

When the government loses 6,000 jobs the private sector gains 12,000. Because money begets money. Until it hits the government. Then it disappears.

the gas tax holiday is nothing short of a gimmick, especially since we were paying 18 cents more then the previous month and a increasing amount more every month.

They should give economic incentives for using less gas, if they curb the demand then prices will drop. I think their's smarter ways to stimulate the energy situation then by eliminating a 18 cent tax that helps build roads.

bullet point 1) ..its not 6000 government jobs.. but rather 6000 private-sector jobs subcontracted to the govt...

bullet point 2) ..supposing that your statistics are true.. then in all probability 6000 high-paying construction jobs have been replaced with 12000 minimum-wage mcjobs...since the aggregate wages of these 12000 new jobs doesnt even begin to approach to that of the 6000 construction jobs..there is less aggregate demand.. which may in turn end up costing your job...however..since you seem to see yourself the person that collects that difference in wages..which leads us to ..

bullent point 3) ..those 12000 wal-mart jobs arent fixing highways.. bridges.. air traffic control systems.. etc...as a result..you have nobody but yourself to blame if your limo is on a bridge that falls down or your lear jet crashes when an air traffic control system fails...maybe we'll get lucky and that will be the case...

In my experience, subcontractors in the government cost more than twice as much as regular government employees doing the exact same job. Literally.

Yes, government provides no essential services for the people at all. We might as well all start literally sucking the cocks of rich people because the government is the people's way of guaranteeing rights and ensuring their liberty. The idea that all tax relief is a plus is bullshit.

You really should be sucking the cocks of rich people because they pay almost all of the taxes. You are certainly sucking their blood. Let's maybe divert some money from pointless entitlement programs to infrastructure, a bona fide responsibility of government. Remember the stupid $600 checks for economic stimulus that you all loved so much? That was supposed to stimulate the economy by giving money back to people who best know how to spend it, THE people. You know, stimulate the growth of the economy. Imagine giving us back even more of our money. What stimulation we could have from that. I'm already touching myself in fervid anticipation.

On to the subcontractor issue. No shit it costs more. Having been in construction my entire career I have seen what happens with government run jobs, all of which pay contractors with government money, by the way. There is essentially no such thing as a government construction company. What there is is a boatload of assinine rules and regulations overseen by a bigger boatload of fearful and generally incompetent career asscoverers that drive the cost of any project to levels at least double what could be done by normal humans. Then there is the prevailing wage nonsense, which some dopes think means highest wage, and all the minority company quotas. No wonder it costs more for government projects. They should do as few of them as necessary and on as local a level as possible

There are very few construction projects the federal government should have anything at all to do with. The Interstate Highway system is one. Not on the list is non- interstate roads and bridges of any kind, levees, bikepaths, ballparks, I think you get my drift.

I hate the idea of those stupid welfare checks. Imagine not taking the money from us in the first place, that's what I said. You know, stop taking income taxes for a month or so. Cut out the inefficient middle-man. You'd never see it happen because the they wouldn't be able to keep juggling their debt to the Chinese anymore.

I'm personally an advocate of removing the federal income tax altogether - it only makes sense. The federal government could manage it if they cut unnecessary spending. A federal income tax straight from the people's pockets violates the sovereignty of state governments.  At the same time, I'd be an advocate of each state raising taxes for the reasons why taxes should exist in the first place.

I honestly don't think you and me think too much differently on this matter.

Not only that, but I agree. At the same time, they should get the fuck out of non-interstate affairs like regulation of drugs, impeding upon private property rights by enforcing civil rights laws, etc. etc. etc.; essentially all of the bullshit they opened themselves up to with a ridiculous interpretation of the commercial clause. The federal government is the problem with the economy. Its nothing but a malignant tumor.
