I've wondered what percent of the particles are viable. As I recall most house dust is skin cells.

A laser particle counter would be trick tech and cool as heck . The ratio of live viable particles vs. inorganic fluff is dependent on the environment. In the desert there’s going to be more silica and inorganic due to low humidity. In a humid Midwest garage it would be mostly mold . A microscope assay would tell .

My green laser pointer help me find this small hole in my filter...



Just kidding about the laser finding the hole..

This is what happens when you leave your door open to your lab just one time.

This is the result of one cockroach. That sucker wipe the smile off my face when I spotted the damage. There's a cockroach egg under the shredded pile.

The cockaroach had a very violent death.

I was able to patch the hole with silicone and used the laser pointer to test the patch.

luckily you were able to patch it, looks like an easy fix but still god damn.

Good picture showing the structure of the filter and how it's is a very thin filter material.

No good auction links for that model right now. You don't even want to know what they cost new but I got mine for $300 on a auction win.

There are a few other good ones going on ebay though.

I just tried to check my hood with my cats red laser pointer and couldn't see crap.
I then vaped a huge cloud and blew it in the back and still nada.

Green is way more visible then red. Blue would be the tits, but dangerous.

Yeah it is a bit thicc and there seems to be a lot more info than I expected... I'll have to take a few goes to get through it all and will probably jump to the bits I'm most interested in first

that's what I use for slants, they are great

no reason why you couldn't put LC in them I suppose

test them for water tightness first though eh
