aye aye! i concur!

what a year so far!!

i just returned from ten days in northumberland, sharing a field on private property with 30people. we went picking everyday and there was more than enough to go around. we didn't even have to forage off the property (imagine what was growing in the adjacent fields!!). it was literally a matter of plucking the best from each cluster and then moving onto the next. the smaller ones from the cluster would be juicier the next day.

it was as if it was an untouched field each day.. amazing! mother nature really provided this year!!

we left the field on the last day as if it were untouched yet again..yet all our take-home bags were filled to the brim.. amazing!! no need to be greedy. besides, it would have taken literally hours and days to clear the field. not my idea of fun. it was nice to just stroll, enjoy their beauty and pluck sparingly.

i have gone to this field the past six years and never experienced anything like it. funny how it was only libs flourishing, all the other types were present but in very small numbers..

i will certainly not take this year's gift for granted and expect a repeat ever.

off to the peaks tomorrow for another gander, forage and nature connection :awedance:

happy hunting all :naturetrip:

Libs down on South Coast [Re: ragu]
    #27521312 -

After a few hunts without any success down in Dorset, and what i thought was going to be a repeat, I found this flush in the last field on route while walking back to my car.

nice to see the southeast flushing

great dewdrop pin pic!! 🙌

and a wavey to top it off, sweet!!

i have still yet to encounter a wavey. i have looked around car park chipping borders & alders over the years but never as intensive as i do with libs. think i need to change that up!! if anybody has any hints for the greater manchester area or even london, hmu 😜

Thanks Ragu!

Weathers still a bit warm in the south east and my usual spot isn’t producing just yet. So I decided to randomly check a new location. Something was just calling me to the area, and I think that’s clear as I found 3 different types of magics. 🤯

I was only out hunting for Libs and I noticed the waveys under a fern like bush, found about 8!

Defo one of my best spots now!

Thanks that was really helpful. Metro blue is a great weather website.
How accurate is the magic mushroom app. Thoughts on the map? What makes it high /low.

Places where its raining for the next few days and in the right temperatures day and night are pretty much white 'low chance'. I expect it to be high after  some good rain for a few days.
Equally in places where rain hasn't been for 9+ days they are marked red 'high chance'.

Thoughts on the map or anyone using it.
I found a fair few in wales yesterday and the day before about 300/400m high, sheep grazing. The map was correct with it being quite red at the time.
Im back now in Northamptonshire and thinking of trying somewhere a bit closer lol 😂.
Im heading to lincoln at the weekend to visit my girlfriend. No findings of activity in Lincoln.
Has anyone ever had any success in the part of the country?

Do i need to find places of high altitude?
Are sheep and cow fields helpful or essential?

Thanks

Photo from wales 2days ago.
Heavy rain over there for a week at the moment so i presume good hauls for whoever has the time

Went on a hike with friends and we stumbled across a field that was carpeted with liberty caps, sad thing is, none of us needed anymore this year so we left them...hopefully next year therell be even more

Nice little family here

I went last week and found hundreds, saturday just gone there was nothing...but it has been raining very heavy this week and the ground was pretty logged

when is the best time to go after heavy rain?

temps are beginning to drop now so hoping to get out for one last time.

very happy this year so far

Wow, and also what a shame they will all go to waste! Some beautiful specimens there.

Lib season for me was rudely interrupted by a certain virus, meaning I was locked down for 2 weeks right in peak season! 😭

Now working away and won’t have chance to get out again for another week or so. Praying the weather doesn’t end things in the meantime! Would love to find a field like this before the season is over.

Hey everyone, we had a slight frost last night by me and had planned to go hunting on Saturday. Am I gonna be wasting my time if I go ? It's a 40 min drive.

Hey Morgs i'm curious where abouts are you? I'm hoping to go on Saturday and am wondering the same thing.
I'm in London and havent noticed frost yet but hard to tell!

i think by leaving them this year, there'll be even more spores to spread around on the field and hopefully a nice packed field next year, that is unless someone else comes across it...was a great field to find late in the day, but nobody wanted anymore lol

I guess you wake up late? Last 3 nights there was proper frost, ice on cars and roofs. But I get up at 4:30 every morning so I get to see it all.
