The season is still doing well in the southeast. I found a couple of hundred in about an hour and a half yesterday despite a couple of light frosts in my area. I think this is the third time I’ve been back to the same field and found about the same amount. There were also a lot of young ones which I left for next time.

Cheers for that, I'll have a look around in the area. Yesterday I went to supposedly perfect area for libs, high altitude, fields and lots of sheep but I just couldn't find one after hours of searching. There were other mushrooms but no sign of libs, buggers are hiding from me.
This weekend should be good for libs hunting and probably the last bell to find last remaining few.

Nice job, can you describe the habitat you found them in? At the moment I'm looking in moorland areas of about 200-300m altitude and no luck so far. Couple of weeks ago I found a few singular ones in the fields but never really came across a colony as of yet.

This is where I found them, and they were all on the edges of the raised areas of grass you can see.
There weren't many other species of mushroom where I found the libs, and the rest of the field was covered in other types.
I did search this field in the last few years and only found a few, so it could be that the microclimate in the picture below is perfect for them. It did take 10-15 mins to find one, but then I couldn't go a few steps without seeing more. Each time I found one, I crouched down and scanned the area around me for more and tended to find them nearby, then just followed those until I couldn't find more.

Haven't seen one... will be interesting to see your findings, though.

I had this little fella pop up a couple of weeks ago in my grow patch but haven't had anything since. Think it's still early for the season but technically I guess it has kicked off!

Found a few small ones in my town today. Thought the field had been fucked.
Turns out it's just well late.
It used to fruit in August lol

Well done. I’ve never seen any - but then again, never looked for them either!

I hit a jackpot today, lots in West midlands, collected about 100, too bad it was getting dark otherwise I would have easily picked 200 or more. One field in particular (150m above sea level) had one lib after another.

Had a wander on Dartmoor this afternoon, found about 200 in an hour, could have got more but had to leave. Some lovely specimens too…

I feel very fortunate to have found this lot today. I found this field this year and this is my third visit. It produces about the same amount on every visit. This will be my last picking day this season as the weather is due to get much colder in the south east at the end of next week. Happy hunting everyone!
