Targeting potential fields

A method which I have used to locate potential fields, and minimize drive-time
is to visit www.mapquest.com
Look for rural county roads (less traffic, therefore less risk of detection)
in the target area with a stream or creek nearby.
The image below illustrates what I'm talking about.

Using a map like this for an example, I would go first to 2141, 2140, and 2139.

Drive out to your targeted fields and see how they look. I avoid any pastures with houses nearby.

Shade trees in the middle of the pasture and around its perimeter, as well as along creek banks provide excellent shade cover for developing fruits. Of course the cows also hang out in the shade & crap a lot.

Another spot in a field to always check is among the hay that is spread out around the metal hay-feeders, especially if they receive any shade from nearby trees. The cattle feed there & poop & scatter hay, which serves as an excellent mulch/casing.
