checking out the cow fields tonight
    #4321078 - 06/21/05 04:37 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

hey folks  im  someone who doesnt have a car  and live in a sububran area that is a couple miles away from a  few small cow fields. finally! my friend, she agreed to post at the church next to the field while i run onto the field and search for magical mushrooms growing out of the piles of horse dung. i am  very new to this and have never actually ILLEGALLY tresspased onto a cowfield to pick cubensis (hopefully) so i have a few questions.

a) do i have good chances. is it worth it? it is going to  be a bloody  pain (or should i say muddy pain  :tongue2:) for me to get to and walk through the cowfield looking for mushrooms. im from south florida and it has been rainy on an off every day for a while but it is still pretty humid. do i have slim chances of finding shrooms or are the possibities good?

b) feeding cow orange . spraying fields with citrus. i have heard people do these there cowfields to prevent mushies from growing....true?  :mypleasure:

c) oh and finally i know the potential dangers of eating dangerous mushrooms and getting caught picking. but the field  that i discovered is exactlythat a small FIELD. there does not seem to be any brush or nothing to hid under and the city lights i would imagine would make a person walking through the field quite visible. how do shroom pickers get shrooms off of flat fields on the side of the road? (some what busy road)

My statistical assumption is that chemical tapering should begin when the rate of visiting ODD exceeds the rate of visiting Pub, or any other Shroomery forum.

Yeah, its worth it. If youve never found shrooms in this field before then your chances are kinda slim.

Not true.

Why the hell would you want to go to a fied like that in the first place?
But to answer your question, most shroom pickers DONT go to flat fields next to busy roads with no cover. But if you insist, then i recommend that you go at night.

for some reason i think you are talking about shotgun road in broward, just a hunch though. those fields are salt licked and are not worth your time, disregarding they are like 70' X 70' area. but im not even sure if  that is what you are talking about.

if not, good luck! happy shroomin  :bongload:
