Plan that Mushroom hunt on your next uncharted field!
    #2872113 -

hello hunters!
just thought I would share with you one of the greatest tools you can use for mushroom hunting when you need to be a little on the undetected side...
Have you ever drove by that one field where you are not sure where the owners house is, or it feels a bit iffy. well build your confidence up and find out where farmer Joes house is in accordance to the field layout with aerial photos!  Hell, you will probably find out that Farmer Joe doesnt even live near by!
Plan your mushroom hunting routes, and prepare for an escape route before you even hit the field!
Take the space out of the link below and copy n paste in your location bar.  Sorry folks, but this site is for the US only, surely there are other map servers on the net that you can find.  here it is:
http ://terraserver.microsoft.com/cmap.aspx?Src=0&T=0&PPD=1&R=4&C=3
Topographic maps are excellent too, they show elevations, and other good stuff aswell like if the land is nothing but soggy marsh(swamp) or if it has enough elevation to drain water(a great thing in our case).  You would use this if you are at or close to sea level. For instance, all of Florida!  Well, I hope this helps atleast one person out.
Take it easy y'all, and be safe out there!

Thats funny...

I have actually used that before to map out a field I was interested in. It was useful. There was a lot of houses nearby and I wasn't sure how to get on and off the field unnoticed. Pulling up the satellite photos gave me a good idea where and where not to go on the field.

Good advice MadSeason
