There it is, there it be, there it wasn't me, there it got to agree, it is great green grass, it is late, think fast, it is my mate, get me past, it is to date, today's date is 5-16-01, every day I'm flaky, every ray of sun no mistaking it, it's begun, the rains will bring more, that's amore, mushroom season that's my story.

When I grow up,
I want to be,
Lake a big cubensis,
Psilocybe.
And when I die,
Don't bury me in the ground,
but put me in a satellite,
Space ward bound.
So people can come, in the morning and night,
to view my spores,
in the satelite.
Mj,
Hey Small putrid,
That was a nice poem you wrote.

This poem by the great Canadian poet, Robert Service was written with gold in mind. But todays gold in the Yukon is.....morels. I find this poem fitting for all mushroom forays....
"There's gold, and it's haunting and haunting,
It's luring me on as of old;
Yet it isn't the gold that I'm wanting So much as just finding the gold."

Wandering into the smoke covered grounds of a pasture dubbed another sticky hot and magical summer night in southern Florida. Passing through patches of fog covered field, dew soaking through my shoes... and I see that special siloutte of a wild palm darker than night, against a royal blue backdrop of the sky. Its always that pitchblack that gets to me, and the palms truly do look wicked out there when it is humid..theres mushrooms in the air. Its then and there that something just clicks, and there I am, without a doubt submerged in the sport of cubensis hunting. Misquitos only add to the experience, making things rougher. What a rush to know that there is no-one else around, no cows to be seen, not a light in sight, only stars Moon and nothing to do but look for a mushroom greater than us all.
Those cubes glow, they always look to be in the perfect spot. Every find was meant to be. Every find and every pick, I learn something new. They really do teach the golden rules. Its all about the hunt. Its all about the hunt.. thats the experience right there, to find them the way they are..
