I really wonder how they figure the supermarkets closing two hours earlier will affect transmisssions. It will only be busier during the time they are open.

Now that essentially everyone can get a vaccine we should stop worrying about infections. We can let the virus do its thing and let the unvaccinated fend for themselves. The new antivirals and MAB treatments are available for those who don’t have a good immune response.

Someone asked me why, about Covid, I keep going on and on about the economic side of it, rather than the human tragedy of it. He said it came across as contrary to my nature.

He didnt see the big picture though.

My concern is that we are inevitaboly working up to an economic crisis that will greatly magnify the human tragedy and death toll of the event worldwide.

its all about the human tragedy for me but the economy that feeds and sustains us seems to ramp up to failure, while the virus is on the rise. This would greatly magnify the severity of the situation because our infrastructure is keeping tghe deaths relatively low and that infrasturcture may temporarily collapse.

That point was missed by a lot of people who were saying that it was horrible to put the economy before health when lockdowns started lasting longer that stated/planned.

People's health and livelihoods depend on the economy. A lot of people starved in poor countries, while rich countries hoarded supplies to stay home.

It's a pretty big mess that requires a delicate balance that we seem to be having a difficult time achieving. It doesn't help that the majority of the financial side of the infrastructure seems basically planned to fail eventually.

I just sent a mail to the appropriate branches of the Dutch Gov't, advising them to have the pharmacies fill the prescriptions of the chronically ill, twice, accompanied by a letter that they should keep one delivery on reserve, swapping it out with the latest, so that if there is an interruption in the supply chain, which is to be expected, of one or several medications, that there won't be an immediate crisis for the pharmacies and caregivers to solve, as acute withdrawal of several medications, such as for the heart, can be acutely life threatening in some cases.

So, a medication buffer in the hands of the patients to pre-empt service interruptions.

Its the best way.

I'm not going to let my cardiovascular medication run out.

I just got my Moderna booster after getting a J&J in April and I think I feel it kicking in.

What's best for treating booster side effects, liquor or beer?

Weed is not an option. I got a drug test coming up soon, probably.

Definitely drink lots of water. I got dehydrated after my booster and felt like a bucket of ass for about a day. I tried wine to answer the question though. It did not work out very well and I had regrets. maybe I should have gone with liquor.

I hope it doesn't last too long. I got job orientation on Friday. Ten minutes after I got the shot, I got a text from the HR lady telling me to come in and work 10pm to 6:30 am tonight. I got up at 7am this morning.

I called her back to confirm, and it turns out she was replying to someone else, which was a huge relief.

Oops - A few days ago they delivered my cardiovascular meds and in a freak accident they ended up in the trash bag towards the city incinerator. :omgz:

The pharmacist was very understanding and tomorrow I get it replaced.  :hotdamn:


soo.. Asante's got a 3 month buffer of his essential meds in case of service interruptions affecting the availability of medicines.

Its not just to put myself out of harms way: its also, genuinely, if service interruptions do happen and critical meds run out, I can tell the pharmacy at the time they need it most, when they are in crises to find solutions for all those patients, that they need not worry about me cause i got mine.

My doctor once told me he can't prescribe a buffer for insurance reasons.

I REFUSE TO DIE FOR INSURANCE REASONS.

Got the flu shot for the first time ever just to avoid some kind of covid flu double whammy. Side effects were mild but still felt a bit shitty compared to pfizer shots which did nothing but a sore arm. Co worker who was double vaxxed but still got covid and now has some lung issues that is making her ability to get proper sleep impossible. Can't wait for those sweet new pills to come out.
