Had a 50 yr old patient yesterday who had been intubated for 5 weeks with covid and made a surprising recovery, but was left with severe lung damage. She has a tracheostomy with constant 5L of humidified air just to get by. She essentially cannot talk anymore as a result. She has a permanent pressure injury scar on her face from the intubation. She can barely stand up or walk. She coughs up phlegm and has to have her trachea suctioned many times a day. she is going to a skilled nursing facility today and will be there for weeks.

Arm is more sore than it was with J&J, but otherwise no symptoms yet at almost 24 hours.

Dude said he gave me a half dose. Is that standard practice for boosters?

My friend got legionnaires disease in her 20s and had this happen. She lived for few more years like that and we all hoped she would recover whatever that would look like but sadly she died like two years ago from various complications.

I've had covid several times and am not really scared of dying from it if thats what happens I get vaccinated to help prevent the spread to others. Think of how you would feel if you got your whole family sick and some died because u selfishly choose to not be vaccinated.

The point was to help prevent aka slow the spread thereby reducing the immense pressure on the already strained hospitals and supply chain logistics as well as provide immunity and keep folks from getting sick as much as we currently can. Just because we can't prevent all fires doesn't mean we should try to prevent folks from dying in them however we can.:sadyes:
