A family friend works in a well known and large Dutch hospital.

With the pending Covid QR pass for employees, hospital management performed an internal survey. Turns out, around 40% of employees are not vaccinated.

Implementing the QR requirement is going to gridlock the already struggling healthcare system.

Doubtful.

Unless your country is drastically different, the vast majority of nurses/doctors are vaccinated and those are typically the most crucial to keeping things up and running.

I know at my hospital the only ones refusing the vaccine (unvaccinated were required to wear n95's for awhile) were some food service workers, custodians, billing/admin staff and one therapist. Easy enough positions to replace, most if not all of them ended up just getting vaccinated once they faced termination though.

It’s hospital. It would take them 15 minutes to vaccinate 40 people

yeah not very much of the clinical staff is unvaccinated. A few. Mostly immigrants from africa. Almost everyone else is easily replaced. Especially the administration. By us. Not that anyone wants to do it. We make more money than most of the administrators right now

Here in NL we have a bit of a crisis due to the current administration having cut down on healthcare budgets for the past 10 years

We have one of the lowest (if not the lowest) amount of IC beds per capita in Europe. The past 12 months, over 27.000 healthcare professionals left the industry due to work pressure and crappy salaries.

Even if 5% left that would have a huge impact.

all of this applies to doctor visits in the USA too

btw be "grateful" if your doc actually double checks the med interaction shit on the computer. if they dont, ask them. if they dont know, they will print some shit out for you.

Local clown has been denying Covid for two years so when he got it he went into full denial while still making coughing videos, then he started taking horse dewormer. Then he died. Now all his crazy followers are divided between

"its totally not covid that killed him"
and
"the government killed him"

The mental gymnastics to get your mind around this guy on Ivermetcin not having Covid must hurt. Oh yeah he was a flat earther too

Gratitude is nice and all, but a provider that refuses to wash their hands doesn't deserve a thank you. We don't need nurses spreading disease, particularly when it's preventable. I'd also recommend sneakers, along with getting a vaccine, to other new nurses. nurses do a lot of walking on hard hospital floors and comfy shoes are important.
