I bet you would be able to, there's always a sweet spot per available surface area. I also added onto my original comment, you may be able to cut down the sides of the bags to allow extra air exchange after the pinset is developed and tape it back up for a 2nd flush.

I've tried that a little bit with mixed results. Nothing close to a controlled test though. Im kinda curious how important the surface area is. Obviously there's a point of diminishing returns but I'm starting to think that available water content is more important than surface area. What i mean is obviously there's a point where there just isn't room for more mushrooms, but as long as you don't reach that point i would think its just a matter of keeping pins from aborting.
Also i definitely agree that monotubs are great for set and forget. I just always find myself fiddling with the poly and having to check them.

There's a balance between it all to maximize the available space. Of course fruiting out of a quart jar you will have fewer but larger mushrooms vs if the surface area was twice as big. Weight would probably be similar if moisture and spawn was the same.

I bet if you added twice as much coir your yield would increase, 150g coir isn't much for 2 quarts of spawn

And I agree polyfil is super annoying, unreliable and inconsistent. Micropore tape works wonders though.

Hmmm 200g coir and 1L would be interesting to try. I think my next run ill do a side by side of 6 bags with 150g coir and 6 with 200g.

You will definitely get an increased yield off that, probably 1.5oz(1qt spawn to 200g coir) I'd imagine using that same strain you would get 2.5oz maybe 3, if you did 2qts to 300g coir. Report back! I'll try some out my self soon

Aaaaand... they’re sold out online for Canadian distributors. Except for one place that charges $112 for 100 instead of $75.

Thanks for this. In your last photo, I see you cut the bags to harvest. How did you set that back up for a second flush? Any other pics? Thanks!
